CSK Fan Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 All veal is beef but not all beef is veal Only young calves of a particular age and kept in a particular way constitute veal. It's very rare, hence my question
CSK Fan Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I hate the idea of eating meat or even poultry in India from what little I can remember from a visit to a butcher shop 10 years ago. Do the stores/butcher shops or wherever it is that people buy their meat from' date=' follow anything resembling proper handling guidelines or is it the same old same old?[/quote'] Most locals shops are the same TBH. But there are certain chains, mostly for chicken, like Suguna, which are extremely clean and hygienic. Most super-markets also stock all kinds of meat and fish
SLICKR392 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Are you sure that's veal? That's not veal, its the usual beef. What I am cooking now is veal. The veal is from a place like Lusitania in Bangalore. I assume its pretty safe.

SLICKR392 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 you dont get it fresh in India??? India is one of the largest producer of Beef!! Beef? Yes. I am not certain about veal from local shops. These machine chopped ones are better in terms of pieces.
