This is shocking to say the least. He probably was the only person attempting to do something constructive. WICB has become such a farce. I think it will be good if they dissolve WICB and allow the different countries to have their own teams. They can't do ant worse than this.

I have a theory. The players ( the first team that is), liked him, he was popular with them. So the board to spite them and make them feel guilty for boycotting bangla games, then sack him to spite them and make them feel bad for missing games

He deserved it, he lost them the game against England because he couldn't count. WI cricket is a mess at the moment. Something needs to be done to save it. Kids in WI are already turning to basketball and seeing this mess even more are going to turn away from cricket.

Yup, I had hopes till maybe even a year back, not anymore. Once the Sarwan/Chanderpaul generation goes they are going to be as poor as Bangladesh. What I don't understand is that it should be common sense for WICB members to understand that without WI cricket being competitive they would be out of jobs as well.

Oh come on prof. You've seen how these guys act. They have the maturity of 3 year olds and the intellectual capacity of Shahid Afridi after a few blows to the head. Cause rifts with their players, decide they're unable to pay them and then use the same money to run advertisements knocking their players/defending their board in the media, etc, etc. There's not one iota of common sense among all those folks combined. With administrators like those it's no wonder WI cricket is in free fall.

And so the bickering continues. In the 1970s the West Indians extracted every last dollar they could from tours — they were in demand and could name their price. Nowadays no one really cares about them. Plain as day the time has come to leave Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Guyana to their own devices. Let them produce proud national teams. The West Indies have served their purpose. In any case, the dream of confederation died long ago. The players are not worth the bother. The administration is incompetent. It’s over. Everyone is sick and tired of the West Indians. South Africa ought to withdraw its invitation to take part in the Champion’s Trophy. Let Ireland come instead — at least they want to play. West Indies have been treating cricket badly for years. It’s high time the favour was returned.
