he bowled well yesterday,but i'm not sure he is a better bowler than Maharoof.Maharoof is faster than him,taller than him,so can extract bounce n can swing the ball,also has a good slower ball.Mathews just bowls wicket to wicket without any variations.that worked yesterday but dont think it'll work always. n my post was referring to having both anyways.Mathews can play at 6 n Maharoof at 7.thats pfcourse in case one of Samaraweera/Kandamby/Kapugedera doesnt cement his place

That ODI bowling AVG was 50+ before the last game. Too early for comparisions, Mathews is a Batting All-Rounder, which fits the bill perfectly for the Sri Lankan Team. Both Mathews and Maharoof would struggle to make the current XI on their Bowling. Thus Mathews has the edge.

Maharoof is expensive! but we dont have to bother about that :hysterical:[/quote'] on wat basis?Mathews has played only 12 ODIs,that to all of them either at home or against minnows.the econ is marginally better n Maharoof has played 91 ODIs. i would agree about batting tho,he is a better bat than Maharoof.but still he averages 24 with a S/R of 68.Maharoof averages 20 at S/R off 85.pretty similar(ofcourse Maharoof has played 79 more games)
