This is what happened. Mills bowled a short ball which Collingwood swayed out of the line for. It was the last ball of the over. Collingwood started to walk towards the middle of the pitch thinking it was the end of the over. Just as he started to walk, McCullum hit the stumps and appealed for a run out. The issue here wasn't whether Colly was out of his crease(he was). It was whether the umpire had already called 'Over' before the stumps got hit. After consultations and 3rd umpire referrals, Colly was given out. Vettori the katori walked to Colly, shook his hand and told him to stay on. Vettori should have taken revenge for the infamous Oval incident and now this largesse can lead to an English win dumping NZ out of the competition. PS - Harper might have overruled the decision in which case Vettori wouldn't be an idiot.

Colly should deliberately get out. During my school days, in one of the matches in gully cricket, I edged a ball to the wicket keeper but the umpire (good friend of mine who still owes me Rs.100) gave me not out. I batted for the next two balls but then my conscience started to hurt me and I deliberately hit the ball straight to a fielder and got out. Colly should just follow my steps:grin:.
