Just How Crap is Pakistan's Batting?

Pakistan has terrible domestic structure. That is the main reason for their batting troubles.
They've always had a poor structure in domestic cricket. Raw talent was always found and flourished, right now the team is full of sifarshis and passengers. It's not an excuse, they still need a better structure for domestic cricket, but even without one, they should be able to churn out quality crickters as they always have in the past.

Even during their good run in the 90s, Pak batting was flimsy outside Asia despite having the likes of Anwar, Inzi, Ijaz and Malik. But the lower order(Moin,Akram,Saqlain) was miles better than what Pak have had in the past 10 years or so. That is what often helped Pak limp to 200-250 which they were able to usually defend because of their stellar and varied bowling.

Raw talent gets you nowhere now. In the 1800s two soldiers used to fight each other with similar weapons and the most talented used to win. Current Pakistani team is like the same soldier trying to fight an armoured soldier with high-tech weapons.

We need a new leader who knows what's he doing, how to set up an attacking field and someone who can pump up his team with his demands and aggression. Yosuf is easily one of the worst captains Pakistan has ever had. And off-course get rid of passengers who aren't good enough to bat in ODIs. Need to inject young blood in and we will be back in business. or forget everything....we can just play an ODI series with India to get back in form. :winky:

There is too much young blood that is the problem. The openers for Pakistan has always been crap. They need to find couple of good openers. They should stop this business of using Akmal as an opener, he is not an opener. They need to find a suitable opener to go out with Salman Butt. It is strange the quality batsmen such as Younis and Yousuf are failing far too often. Yousuf was hitting the ball so well at the start of the inning, on a good day those shots would have fetched fours. I guess it's a mix of bad luck and not having enough patience keeping the quality players down.

what stupidity.this is pakistanis mentality-sack the captain when things are not going well(which is often),instead of addressing the main problem.

When India CB final Uthappa & Tendulkar opened. Aussies were bowling consistently at 145k to 150ks. Uthappa looked far better than any of the Pakistanis currently. Rohit sharma was sublime. Tendulkar was just toying with the bowling with his late uppercuts. This side simply has no clue about where the next runs come.
