Rahul Dravid's last ODI inning for India?

Despite that stat, we do know quite well that Dravid, and even Inzy who is on that list are both very good accumulators in the middle overs. Placement is excellent. Not sure how to reconcile that with the no of run outs hes had though...

If Sehwag and Yuvi come back in the next series' date=' he might well be out[/quote']
:hatsoff: to Dravid.. for his service to ODI cricket.. lets move on
Once all the Senior Members are back, i don't think RD would make it to the squad, we should have someone like Kohli around the Squad. If this is his last ODI :hatsoff: to a Legend of the Game.
I also feel i won't see Dravid in colors again.. i guess
That would actually be a good thing for both Dravid and the indian Team
On the topic itself' date=' once Yuvi and Viru are back, I doubt if there’s a place for Dravid.[/quote'] ++

It's not his running' date=' IMO. It's the way he finishes his running. More often that not he fails to slide his bat to get back in the safety box. You could say he is a lousy finisher while completing a run[/quote'] More than that, I think the calling has been an issue

LOL! I'd also add the stats are slightly misleading... it's worth noting how many others have had run outs when batting with Dravid. Ganguly for instance - most of his major test run outs I remember came in partnerships with RSD.

This is definitely not his last one day innings. MSD and Srikanth got him back because they know how shaky our youngsters really are when the going gets really tough. Dravid adds solidity to this batting lineup and even with Yuvi and Viru back, i am sure Rahul would still figure in the batting lineup. And he has not done badly at all since his comeback. In the compaq series he was asked to open play one down as well where he did more than a decent job. And in the match against Pakistan it is because of him that we atleast got till 250, so what more can u ask of this man. He has played really well and he will be playing against Australia for sure. So stop speculating something unless you hear from himself that he is going to retire soon. RSDs ODI retirement plans are no way near unless he starts scratching around and loses form which i am sure wont happen again.

Don't think so man. Sehwag , Yuvi will come back. Dravid and Karthik will leave. Don't think Kohli will be left out which is the right move. Not sure he is even going to feature in 2011 world cup. So they won't be preferring him. We need wins. not honorable losses. Every time he scores runs and India loses.. we should not subtract his runs and say "but for him India would have llost badly". Today he got out early. Did they just roll over? I have respect for him for his dedication. But he is clearly a misfit in this unit. These guys carry a surprise element and fearless attitude. Sure there are some occasional blips. But overall youngsters are doing a decent job.

Hmm let us see, although i like Kohli's attitude i still think he has a lot to do to be a permanent fixture in our batting lineup. He is an exciting talent but lets not rush him and get the poor kid dropped in a way similar to Raina and Rohit. Somehow i think RSDs role is a mentorship role rite now in our team, i mean agreed he is no Sachin where he can turn the match on his own, but he sure adds value to the team and the youngsters have a lot to learn from him. I have no idea if he is going to figure in the 2011 wc and i honestly dont care too as it is still sometime away and i would like Rahul to continue as long as he can. If there is a more exciting youngster whose place RSD is taking then i would sure ask him to leave but as far as i can see there is no one around who can do more than what Rahul is doing right now. So with the right blend of youngsters in, i am sure Rahuls experience will add great value to the team. Anyway it is just my opinion, let us see what happens. But one thing is for sure, he would figure in the australia odi series. After that maybe something can happen, i doubt it but still if Rahul is asked to leave then it would be after that series.

Only recently Tendulkar said in NZ "This is the best Indian XI i have played with". That XI did not have Dravid. What does it say. What role Dravid played in India's win in SL twice (which they could not even once over the last 10 years), win in Aus (which let me see they could never do), win in NZ (which never done by any Indian team. Just get Yuvi and Sehwag back everything will be back on track with or without Dravid.

Dravid having played his last ODI game? Hmm ... and in the meantime assuming that none of the fragile players that play non stop cricket wil again get injured anytime soon? Or that Yusuf Pathan and the likes are better options?

 Nice one, yoda. I am sure both myself and vvvs know how much SRT and Dravid respectively have contributed to Indian cricket. But as fans we have every right to be critics as well. :winky:
