putrevus Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Big players raise their level in big matches, some people play just for records, Great players some how raise their level on big occasion. Ricky is just one of greatest match winners ever stepped on the field, He has won everything possible from World cups to CTs. I will take him over sachin tendulkar every day of the week and twice on sunday.Sachin might have all the records but he will never be the match winner which is Ricky Ponting.
graphic23 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Ponting. Why are we even comparing him to Sachin, who scored 0 in the most important game against SL in WC 2007, 6 in the game against Pakistan in CT 2009, 4 in the WC Final in 2003, etc. He clearly lacks the mental strength to play in games that matter and take the team home. In fact, I'll go one better. I'd take Ponting over Sachin every dt (read differential time period).

(in and out be4 the sachin worshippers come and question your nationality cos u r degrading sachin)
Mr. Wicket Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Ponting is an outstanding player and one of the finest of this generation. But he would be a lot easier to like in general (and a lot more admired) if the class he showed as a person was remotely close to a fraction of his class as a batsman.

I would think you're being a smartass and doing this for a joke, except for the whole 'dt' math nerdy thing.
putrevus Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 this guy never quits no matter how bad the situation his team is in , he just keeps the tempo going, I always want him to fail but damn he rarely does, Sachin never had this quality in him.He has always has come up small on important occasions.
punjabi_khota Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Finally, Graphy has been quoted !! Ponting is a big match player for sure! Sarcasm detector :fail:
vvvslaxman Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I will take Bresnan over Paul Collingwood. Because in big match Bresnan makes it count. :winky:
ludhianvi Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Sarcasm detector :fail: Nah pk, it was quoted for Truth from one of Sachin's biggest fans :winky:
Shane Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I will take Bresnan over Paul Collingwood. Because in big match Bresnan makes it count. :winky: :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Dinx - the Jinx Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 :adore: ponting for the first time in my life...
Mr. Wicket Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 hey dinakkar, certainly helps when he's bailing out our ICF$ accounts, eh? :D (I bought Ponting over Strauss, multi-fours and Aus supremacy in this game! :--D)
Shane Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 hey dinakkar, certainly helps when he's bailing out our ICF$ accounts, eh? :D (I bought Ponting over Strauss, multi-fours and Aus supremacy in this game! :--D) Now thats what matters, isn it? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Mr. Wicket Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Now thats what matters' date=' isn it? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:[/quote'] All I care about at this point is Pakistan not winning and me getting ahead of kanedian brigade. That said, that damn dhokla copied my Ponting and Supremacy bets, didn't he?
goose Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 The mind plays tricks, especially when that mind belongs to a supporter mourning the exit of his beloved India from the CT.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 hey dinakkar, certainly helps when he's bailing out our ICF$ accounts, eh? :D (I bought Ponting over Strauss, multi-fours and Aus supremacy in this game! :--D) ha ha.. :hatsoff: on ur bets.. my adoration of ponting in this match is not really for bailing out the millions.. its more of a frustration that sachin or any other player from india is playing consistently on such big occassions.. we dont have even 1 player that we can depend on big matches consistently.. sachin, yuvi, sehwag all are there.. but cant produce such innings big match after big match.. how I wish we had such a player in our team... thats why i hate this mindless sachin worshipping when he hasnt done even 50% of what ponting has done in big match occassions
Dinx - the Jinx Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Personal stats don't always motivate me, I look to finish the job for my team. - Ponting in presentation ceremony.. Yeah - talks like those backed by performance does give me a hard on.. any problem?
