DomainK Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 The biggest joke = He conned Pont when he could have made more out of the IPL :hysterical: Anyways, I will leave it at that I see your point.
ViruRulez Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I also made some search on youtube and found another interesting youtube comment which says Atul Sharma is in Australia bowling with Shaun Tait. The comment dates back to 3 weeks ago and it is supposedly made by a TV channel reporter in Australia who interviewed him in Australia. ViruRulez Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I see your point. I agree .. anyways he would have created crores just from the hype it would create.. I am still not sure about all these and I am still very confused. :wall:
Sachinism Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I just made some more searches on the net and found even a video interview of him at the India Today website. I also found two more interviews and I am not sure how all that can be fake. Here are 3 parts of a video interview with Atul Sharma from India Today. I am not sure how that can be fake because India Today is one of the biggest magazines in India and headlines today is also a reputed news channel. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/index.php?option=com_magazine&opt=section§ionid=86&secid=99&videoid=43023&start_bottom=0&ptype=video http://indiatoday.intoday.in/index.php?option=com_magazine&opt=section&ptype=video&videoid=43023&part=2§ionid=86&secid=99 http://indiatoday.intoday.in/index.php?option=com_magazine&opt=section&ptype=video&videoid=43023&part=3§ionid=86&secid=99 I also checked the page source code and found the direct link of the videos. If you find difficult in watching the video, then you can download the videos directly from the following links. It seems the interview was taken when he was still training at Maverick's Academy and Atul also speaks about the Indian team, IPL and everything else in the interview. I am really confused and you can download the videos for yourself. Part 1 http://media1.itgo.in/indiatoday//video/May/052009070207_20Atul_Fast_Bowler1_150k.flv Part 2 http://media1.itgo.in/indiatoday//video/May/052009070512_20Atul_Fast_Bowler2_150k.flv Part 3 http://media1.itgo.in/indiatoday//video/May/052009070609_20Atul_Fast_Bowler3_150k.flv I found two more written interviews in Spin magazine http://www.dreamcricket.com/dreamcricket/news.hspl?nid=11681&ntid=4 http://www.spincricket.com/2009/05/08/atul-sharma-speaks/ I dont think this Atul Sharma guy is fake but the whole thing seems to be a weird puzzle which cannot be solved easily. :sniffle: :hmmm: I started watching the vid and the guy claims Atul Sharma can bowl every single delivery at over 100mph. Not even Ian made that claim. And thats when I stopped watching
ViruRulez Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Good job Sherlock. :hatsoff: Thanks my dear Watson :hatsoff: Anyways I am leaving it at this.. wasted more than an hour just researching
ViruRulez Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I iz confused 2 times..................sm1 ask him to play one match please please.........hope Ian comes and comments on this the more research I am making it is just confusing me even more .. so I will leave at that.. maybe you can continue the research work from here NB: This research work might give you serious headache making you bang your head on the wall. :giggle:
ViruRulez Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 :hmmm: I started watching the vid and the guy claims Atul Sharma can bowl every single delivery at over 100mph. Not even Ian made that claim. And thats when I stopped watching Yes and in the videos it is said Atul Sharma has taken 7 years training and not 3 years :cantstop:
Lord Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 the question is whether he exists or not,he definitely does.but i think hes crap n not fast as Pont or he himself claims to be.otherwise who would be idiot enuf to not show up at IPL n go into hiding with some petty money compared to wat he could have earned at IPL
Sooda Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I just made some more searches on the net and found even a video interview of him at the India Today website. I also found two more interviews and I am not sure how all that can be fake. I dont think this Atul Sharma guy is fake but the whole thing seems to be a weird puzzle which cannot be solved easily. :sniffle: Cheers for the links Viru I have read the dream cricket interview in the past and seen that training montage, the 'hes a myth' thing was partly in jest. Frankly I had (faint) hopes that hed be the fast bowler were all looking for EVERY ball over 100mph as the Hedlines today guy says cant be right as Sachinism rightly says. Wonder if he EVER planned to play competetive cricket or he knew he couldnt and wanted to make the most out of the 15 mins he got now. He certainly seems to be training HARD, and is quite articulate with his english, dosent seem to be discovered from a village in the middle of nowhere like Munaf In any case he would have had to spen at least one year in Ranji cricket, and he seems like a big, very well built lad but bowling long spells in the heat and maintaining even a 85mph+ pace is a different kettle of fish entirely and... well.. maybe he decided he couldnt. Oh well. Keep the faith Ponty maybe he'll return. Gone on holiday. Or something
EnterTheVoid Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 enough to make me have written agreements now and not coach on face value and promises. Now, why would you do that ? :bird: How was he going to pay you back ? Flip burgers at McDonalds ? Did you do a background check to see if he was financially capable of paying the coaching fees ? Looks like your money problems are a fault of your own doing. Nice going there ! No' date=' but I think your expression of the funny side borders on mockery.[/quote'] Everybody has got money problems. Why does Pont deserve special sympathy when he was dumb enough to undertake this without any formal agreement ? Money divides families, friendships.
Sooda Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 ^ Im guessing its more the time investment, and perhaps after the faith Pont put in this guy the fact that he just went rather than money. Anyways it is mockery what youre doing and yes he does deserve sympathy. I think its good of Ian to come here and tell us this bearing in mind the no of discussions weve had on ICF about Atul Sharma and the hopes (however faint) that he could be something special. The interview with Headline Today does really make you beleive.
SSJ4Kakashi Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Ummm...wait is this the REAL Ian Pont or just someone trying to act like him on ICF?:hmmm:
EnterTheVoid Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Coach for 3 years on face value and empty promises ? How do you expect people to react ? Ian, try to understand, I am not being purposefully man purely for the sake of it, although I understand why you may get that impression Sorry mate but you dont trust strangers with serious money matters. Coaching on face value and promises, as you put it, is absurd. In that situation, the fact that you got used and were taken advantage of does not come as a surprise
Temujin Khaghan Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 well considering the hype munaf and vrv singh got as express pace bowlers before thier debut...i cant understand why the indian media is not hounding atul sharma.

So, you can expect to add masala to the news and maybe they had added the 100 kmph on each ball thing just to add more masala. But after my research it seemed that Atul Sharma cannot be fake although he might be one of the biggest mystery man in recent times. :hatsoff:
Ian Pont Posted October 3, 2009 Author Posted October 3, 2009 Now, why would you do that ? :bird: How was he going to pay you back ? Flip burgers at McDonalds ? HMMMM.... if I didn't know better, I would say that sree_india is Atul Sharma in disuguise - or someone who knows him. Not only using phrases the same, but also the angle he's coming in from on this story. Well Atul, if this is you listen up. My lawyers are tracking you through your US network (Aunt), IMG and Jeff Gorski and no hiding behind turned off and discontinured cell phones will protect you. I have someone in India RIGHT NOW looking for you. So keep looking over your shoulder.
