10DuLKaR Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 On-field umpires of ICC Champions Trophy semi-final match between Pakistan and New Zealand, Simon Taufel (Australia) and Ian Gould (England ) have apologized to Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal for their faulty leg before decision. The News quoted an ICC source as saying that heated arguments were exchanged between Pakistan coach Inrtikhab Alam and the umpires during a hearing conducted after the semifinal at The Wanderers. Match referee Javagal Srinath called Akmal and Alam for a hearing after the match, over what umpires blamed the batsman for showing dissent over the lbw decision. Taufel ruled Akmal lbw in the 41st over when he had played the ball on to his pads. His fall at a crucial stage robbed Pakistan of a chance to post a big total. Srinath also cleared Umar of showing any dissent and conveyed that the umpire who had made the decision to say 'sorry' to Umar for the wrong judgment. According to a theory doing rounds in the Pakistani camp, the biased umpiring against Pakistan was a result of an Indian monopoly in the ICC. They added that some of the Indians believe that Pakistan had deliberately kept India out of the semis race as they did not go all out to achieve win against Australia that could have enabled them make it to the semis. *Source* :cantstop::cantstop:

riya Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 So ultimately BCCI responsible for Pakistan's loss.All right nothing wrong with their top order playing,inability to use powerplay,sitters being dropped by the capatin at a crucial point.One decision is the soul reason for the loss.And that was BCCI conspiracy great going Pakistanis. The reason Pakistan lost was simple.Just like their fans their cricketers were obsessed with India,beating India was their first goal.They did that.Then eliminating India was their second goal and they did well.But they did at the expense of the game of cricket,they made a mockery of the game by dropping sitters purposefully.And the game paid back them heavily in a truly spectacular fashion.They took NZ silly and the game taken for granted.They were making plan for Aussies in the finals.Such arrogance! And they had been brought back to earth.So Pakistanis it was not the umpires who cheated u,the game itself gave u a lesson.Hope u learned that.

chetan0304 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Here's what cricinfo commentary says 40.5 Akmal is gone, lbw, he was looking to paddle that one fine, he misses and is struck on the pads, Taufel sends him on his way, the ball looked to be heading for offstump, but Akmal was extremely unhappy with the decision, was there an inside edge? Replays show there was, a thick one too 181/6

Since the 99 world cup, Pak has never made the finals of an ICC ODI event this decade - CT 2000 - semi CT 2002 - first round :cantstop: CWC 2003 - first round :cantstop: CT 2004 - semi CT 2006 - first round :cantstop: CWC 2007 - first round :cantstop: CT 2009 - semi Has to be the BCCI's doing. :bird:
