SachDan Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pak Parliamentary committee summons Younis, Butt on CT show NEW DELHI: In connection to the match-fixing allegations during the Champions Trophy semifinal match between Pakistan and New Zealand PCB, on Tuesday, sacked captain Younis Khan and coach Intikab Alam. Younis, who opted to play in the tournament despite fracturing a finger in a warmup match, put down a simple chance off Grant Elliott when the New Zealand batsman was on 42. Elliott went on to score unbeaten 75 and guided the Kiwis in a successful run chase. "It will stay with me for the rest of my life," Younis had said. "Maybe the result could have been different had I not dropped that catch." He said he decided to play in the Champions Trophy with a broken finger because he was desperate to win a second international title in 2009 following Pakistan's stunning win in the Twenty20 world championship in July. "I wanted to win another big tournament this year and give a gift to my countrymen," Younis had said after the match. LINK :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Texy Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pak threw away the OZ game to knock India out! New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Pakistan National Assembly has alleged that the Pakistan team deliberately lost the game to Australia to knock India out of the Champions Trophy. "We went with a pre-determined mind to lose out the match against Australia. Our intention was to keep India out. It was a deliberate decision to lose match against India," Jamshed Ahmed Dasti told Pakistan TV channel Geo TV in an interview. Dasti went on to claim that Pakistan also fixed the result of their semi-final match against New Zealand, which they lost by five wickets. As is often the case, Dasti has not provided any evidence to back these claims, but has summoned the team management including the captain and the coach to discuss the matter. Source: CNN-IBN

DomainK Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I read the story. It says nothing about sacking. Besides they won't sack anyone before an inquiry in the least.
