saneindian
PK bowled brilliantly with the new ball. Beat the bat so many times and after seeing him bat properly fr the first time in his career, I am sure he should be given another go. On the same pitch, aussie bowler also gave away 287 runs. vvvslaxman
Nothing new Indian death bowling sucks. In recent times every single fast bowler has bowled one terrible over at the death. Indian bowling strategy is not good at all in the death. They bowl on both sides. Field set is not precise. Both Dhoni and Bowlers have to work out a strategy in the death. Link to comment
satishg
He is not suited for the death bowling although his bowling earlier was not that great as well. But he can move the ball both ways early on which is a great asset, so if at all Dhoni plays him in the next match, he has to use him before the death overs. I think if Munaf is fit then he should play instead of Praveen the next game. Link to comment
Sachinism
P Kumar should try and get through his 10 overs as early as possible. When he started thats what he was doing, getting through most of his overs early on. That way we don't have to rely on him in the death. Link to comment
cowboysfan
i am liking the prof's idea more and more.we should play 3 frontline spinners.captain awesome will never let it happen though. Link to comment
DeXteR
Praveen Kumar has to do something about his bowling...he already bowls at 125kms and then he bowls slowers one's , and strays from line...come on PK...we have seen speed going down for all our bowlers...we dont want you turn into spinner PK.. Cricketics
He has been far more consistent then any other seamer in past 2 years in ODI cricket. He should be regularly picked our squad. and as in this case, yes he should play the next ODI. Even if he hadn't scored the amount of runs he scored today, he should be played. He is a very good bowler. Great brain. We have to take him as a Unique bowler. He is not like any other seamer. He is a special case here. He swings and still brings up 120+ speed with a spinner like action is quite amazing. Link to comment

If Ishant finds him form again and Nehra remains consistent and Zak returns to form after injury then I would pick those three instead of PK. PK is a chance bowler to some extent who is quite useless in pitches where there is not much swing. At his pace, he is hammered for runs on his bad day. But yes he should be in the 15 member squad and picked as per the need of the game. Link to comment
Fontaine
Praveen Kumar should ALWAYS play when there's any chance of swing. The question is why can't he bowl like he did in the 2nd match more consistently. Look, PK has a gift that can't be taught, learned or acquired. He has this magical ability to swing the ball both ways with very little or almost no change in wrist position or action. That's not opinion but fact. Look at how he punked Ponting in the 2nd match and go back a couple of years to the CB series and he did THE SAME THING. Bowling the outswinger and inswinger in the same over again and again. With all the match film/videos/analysis available they still can't pick him years later. They can't tell if it's going to swing in or out. They can't do it because there's almost no change in his wrist position or action, just a subtle change in the angle of the seam. Most swing bowlers in the world would sell their soul to acquire that kind of ability but you either have it or you don't. PK does and let him use it. But at the same time he definitely needs to get out of this nasty habit of bowling too many variations and trying different things in his first spell like he does sometimes. He's at his best when he only bowls those two deliveries and EVERY TIME he does it, he beats the crap out of the batsmen and makes guys like Ponting look stupid at the crease. Link to comment

The Outsider
Praveen Kumar is useful in ODIs as long as he bowls the bulk of his overs with the new ball. He can pick up wickets with the subtle swing he gets in the early overs which will always put pressure on the batting side. Remember, he is still very inexperienced and it's because of that he needlessly tries to bowl short or try the slower ball when there is really no need for him to do that and ends up conceding a few boundaries that way. If he tightens up that aspect of his game, which I think he will with experience, he can be useful ODI player even at the speed he bowls at. Link to comment
