EnterTheVoid Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 24 hrs and counting, with NO SLEEP WHATSOEVER ... Still going
Nova Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 32 hours...and I started feeling dizzy. Not a good feeling. Definitely my concentration was off that day.
DomainK Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Once worked at a stretch from a morning through the day, the night and then through the day all day. That's the longest ever.
nikred Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Skipped sleep twice due to work. So can say about 34 hrs. It a weird feeling, you don't feel sleepy but feel totally miserable. :P
Sooda Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 ^never as long as any of that, been awake over night once, so maybe bit more than 24ish, then slept through the whole next morning anyway
Desi Cartman Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 36 hrs .. BTW my personal best for sleeping without any interruption is for little over 19 hrs :yay: Sree, u need to speak with your doc about this. Depression can cause this and since u dont sleep u feel even worse. Even when u sleep u have dreams/nightmares which again means that its not sound sleep. Talk to your doc .. & yes try and excersise cuz if ur body is tired then it'll be easier to sleep.. also take a shower .. warm glass of milk and try ... I used to have TV on in my room to avoid getting lost in thoughts , mostly I slept with TV on ... Try these things
Sachinism Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 About 40 hours but the sleep after that OMG amazing. I also went through an partially-insomniac period, I used to get to sleep at about 5-6 every day and would have to wake up by 8. Went weeks like this
Riley's Girl Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I went through a period of about 2 weeks where I only got 2-3 hours sleep a night due to work and stuff. NOT GOOD. Couldn't concentrate on anything and was b!tchy as hell. When I finally had time to crash I slept for almost 24 hours straight. Felt disoriented and not at all rested when I woke up.
punjabi_khota Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Every few weeks (4-6), I do a 36-40 hour marathon no-sleep thingie to pull my **** together :hehe: In IIT, it was de rigueur for a LOT of people before/during exam time.
Gambit Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Woke up Saturday morning. Slept on Monday morning. A little over 48 hours. Had to submit two heavy duty assignments. Played some cricket in between as well.
DomainK Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I will tell you guys what I have done and none of you could ever have done as far as sleep is concerned. One night I went to bed at 8. Woke up after 8 in the morning, had some breakfast and went back to sleep at a little past 9. Woke up at 1, watched tv on bed and fell asleep to wake up again at 9 in the night. Had some more food and went back to sleep. Woke up at around 3 in the morning. Beat that.
EnterTheVoid Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Sree' date=' u need to speak with your doc about this. Depression can cause this and since u dont sleep u feel even worse. [/quote'] Thanks for the advice but in this instance, it is not depression that is keeping me awake I am trying to study for two exams and finish the research paper I need to submit. Really pushing the body to the limits but one way or another, I have to get this done, 2 A.M. and I am still at uni. Lets see how long I can push this.
Guest Hiten. Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I think somewhere around 30-34 hours. Had to juggle between preparing thesis presentation along with the working prototype and giving some finishing touches to a design project.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 during my final mbbs exam for 6 weeks slept about 3-4 hours per day and went without sleeping for about 48 hrs, befire one of the examz
Guest Gunner Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I have gone about three straight days without sleep for my CA exams plus I have slept around 10 hrs in a whole week due to a very big audit. I have done this kind of no sleep lot of work pattern quite a few times. It starts hruting after the third day with no sleep.
DomainK Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I always had the habit of sleeping, resting and relaxing immediately before the exam. I always believed that staying awake the night before the exam is the stupidest thing a student can do. You need to have relaxed and rested, not over worked and nervous.
dial_100 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 couple of times 48+ hours w/o lying down even for 2 mins. with 2/3 hours of sleep here and there 3-4 days.
JayStarz Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 about 40 hours had swine flu the day after and no, I didn't take any medicine for it lol.
