Paper finished, exams to go When your mind is truly focused and you are in the 'ZONE', you don't tend to notice the time and can pull off 4 - 5 hrs strech at a time. I am driven by the prospect of a decent job in my field during summer hence, I want to get these done a.s.a.p, one way or another. If you keep looking at your watch every five minutes and keep wondering when it would be over, it would be hard to last an hour.

42 was my max without planning. Should plan a Fri-Sun evening with enough interesting stuff to do(a deep analysis on Sachin's stats maybe). HAve done quite a few 34-36 hrs averaging 1 per month. And the same goes with sleeping continuously as well.

Do energy drinks REALLY help or are you able to pull of marathon stretches because you know that you have to get it done and you have no option of deferrement / postponement available Red Bull / G / Mother etc, all energy drinks, all taste like shyt, like cough medicine. Rather not drink any of them, prefer to go outside, get some fresh air, recharge the batteries and start again. I can say, with some relief, I managed to get them done. Whether its of an acceptable standard or not, thats another story. Now, just sit and wait

^Those drinks have caffeine and it is obviously well established that caffeine leads to higher level of alertness and can postpone the feeling of fatigue. Coffee is probably as good as those drinks I guess.

Not by choice, but by circumstance, although you are your own worst enemy if you find yourself in this mess because of poor time management Luckily, these marathon stretches are only limited to exam time. I can't think of one other occasion where I went sleepless for so long to get something done.
