ViruRulez Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 SRK gets a lot of unfair stick. He's a good actor, and actually does/has done a good number of non stereotypical mushy type roles esp in his early days. No coincidence that the likes of Darr, Anjaam are some his best films. I agree that SRK was a very good actor in his initial years. Even the serials he did on DD were great and then his initial movies were great. He was destroyed and quite pathetic acting-wise after he joined the Karan Johar and Yash Chopra camps. Although the Johars and the Chopras have produced some of the biggest hits in Bollywood but I regard them as crap directors. They are more interested in masala, songs, movie promotion, controversies extravagant locations and sets etc. rather than extracting good acting from their actors. And almost all their movies are based on similar "happy ending love stories" rather than proper scripts. You can also make out their movies from their contrasting colors, flying leaves, flowers etc. I still dont understand why most of their movies still become superhits and blockbusters with pathetic scripts and not-so-good acting. SRK became successful as an actor after joining these two camps but he was confined nearly to the same "lover boy image" in all the films thereafter. And he hardly does any movies nowadays except these two camps. Even his own production companies are nothing but looks like the Chopras and Johars movies. Hope SRK does some proper films and tries to show his acting skills at least now when he is nearing the end of his career. Aamir Khan (and to some extent Big B) on the other hand has always tried to show his variety and acting skills in almost every new film he does.

Some of SRK's typical larger than life movies I like: DDLJ: The movie was a bundle of energy thanks largely to SRK and Kajol. Refreshing and entertaining. SRK played the role with such a natural ease that it was amazing. One of the best from those times. Dil to Pagal Hai: Karishma was good in that movie. Madhuri's last movie that I liked (No, I did not like Devdas much). Muhabbatein: Overall the movie was crap. Some of the scenes and dialogs between Amitabh and SRK were outstanding. The performances were strong and the dialog delivery awesome. All Karan Johar and Farah Khan movies sucked.
