I can't believe this discussion is actually taking place. I am truly speechless. The overall IQ of ICF has just plumbed new depths.
Ditto.

The thread was split from the Dhoni captaincy thread, in that thread I had asked transparent (who was laughably claiming ODIs was a superior form of the game to Tests because more people watched it) if he also thought Yuvi was a better batsman than Laxman by the same ridiculous logic. I wasn't to know it would lead to such a discussion that it would become a full fledged thread :cantstop:

Yea.. one personal opinion has blown into a seperate thread. Some tried to counter. Some frankly thought it was a nonsensical debate in the first place which is correct.
My point on the Dhoni thread was to show transparent how ridiculous his claim that ODI cricket is superior to Test cricket was. When he still carried on about Yuvi being better than VVS, I didn't even bother continuing with him, so futile is the claim. Then some time later the thread was split into "is Yuvi better batsman than Laxman" :cantstop:

More people watch Aajtak, more people watch the *****y sadistic reality shows, more people watch the crappy saas-bahu soaps, more people watch porn. If you stand in the middle of the road stripped naked, a lot of people will watch you.

At the end of the day ... all things taken into account. Yuvraj is not even anywhere near Laxmans league. Yuvraj has too many flaws ... such as against the swinging ball and against slower bowlers. You won't see an innings like the 281 by Yuvraj because he doesnt have the temperament or technique. In limited overs its fine because you can get away with poor technique. Having said that ... I think a batsmans performance in Tests should be weighted higher than in ODIs because they are a more difficult game overall. Yuvraj is no doubt the better ODI batsman.
How can one be thrashing some of the best fielding and bowling departments at an decent pace with poor technique? are you saying that UV doesn't have temperament??? YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: any ways, respect your opinion

At the moment: Tests : Laxman ODIs : Yuvi t20 : Yuvi Laxman doesnt have time to improve or prove himself in the ODI's or t20s whereas Yuvraj has ample time to improve in Tests.

transparent' date=' was Bevan a better batsman than S Waugh overall?[/quote']
At his best he is better than Tendu' date=' Punter.. so it was implied by him :cantstop:[/quote'] ...I said that he would have done a great job at times...yet tendu and punter are right there with him... S Waugh was a match winner...For me he was better than bevan. averages are not the only thing to be taken in account while comparing batsmen...

Can you dare to? ...and what are the chances that people will enjoy it? majority may also be disgusted by it... More people watch ODI because they enjoy it!

You know what, I don't understand so please explain this to me. Earlier you said averages are not important and SR is. Now Outsider gave you an example and you say S Waugh was a match winner. What exactly is your benchmark? Average or SR or Match winner (I don't know how you quantify that)? Are you saying VVS did not win any matches for India?

Tendulkar and Ponting would be so honored that transparent considers them right up there with Bevan!:hysterical: Aaahh....the Inzi is a bigger moaaschh vinnaaar than Tendulkar argument! But let me play along - how was Waugh a greater match winner than Bevan?

:cantstop: Class But transparent agrees that VVS> Yuvraj in test cricket. So it boils down to Tests versus ODIs, which is the greater examination of a batsmans ability...

:hysterical::hysterical: This thread made me laugh for the first time in the day..broke my ring finger earlier in the day..DXB stocks plummets (on expected lines though) and was part of a meeting to cut down the workforce :(
