Its not that I think he’s simply not capable of making interesting/funny comments, but I believe avoids them so that he does not court controversy. When Sreesanth took a wicket in the 1st innings of the 2nd test in Kanpur, he made a very tongue in cheek comment about his ‘best mate’ Bhajji giving him a huge hug or something… You could feel sarcasm oozing when he used the words ‘best mate’. :D Lal, on the other hand, is just plain dumb. He couldn’t make a worthwhile comment even if someone held a gun to his head… :mad:

He couldn’t make a worthwhile comment even if someone held a gun to his head… :mad: actually Lal made an interesting comment about sehwag's technique. when sehwag hit a ferocious square cut of a delivery on the rise, lal commented that you cant play that shot by taking your foot to the pitch of the ball, in essence you can't coach that. the other commentator acknowledged that was one of the best piece of commentary he heard. other than that yeah he and sashtri are like a tapes on playback mode.

I don’t believe you. Even if he did make some interesting comment, he must have probably copied it from the internet the previous night…

Their level of eloquence varies. Not everyone can be as intuitive and crystal clear like Younus Khan. But i have gripe with commies though. Because that is their job.

Because that is their job. i'm not asking if its right or wrong, i'm just asking a list of all cliched phrases. sure its the right thing to say but its also overused.
