Andy
PK can pick wickets too.he swings the ball both ways.n has decent control. n its always good to have an option of batting down the order.wen 10 runs r need of last over,u dont want Jadeja there,u want PK Ur point is correct..when we are chasing big scores. But i dont want to chase big score. Link to comment
Lord
Ur point is correct..when we are chasing big scores. But i dont want to chase big score. we will have to chase big scores unless all bowler bowl well.we dont have a 'superstar' bowler Link to comment
spectre
Dude firstly u are comparing Irfan = An International player!! To Binny = An Icl player!!:hehe: Then u are calling binnys bowling handy over Irfan!! Yes Irfan isnt a gud bowler..but how do u rate Binny beter dan Irfan??:omg: He hasntg done well in any challenger or anyother major tournament!! Its ICL what u are talking abt!! Then on the basis of ICL performance Even Vignesh looks beter dan Sehwag!!:winky: I am talking strictly about T20s, we need some T20 specialists for WC Whatever I have seen of him, he looks handy for a T20 match, can get a quick 30-40 odd runs, can bowl some good 2-3 overs I have also mentioned Abhishek Nayyar, he is not ODI or test class yet, but he is a handy T20 player, when he played for MI I rate Irfan very low, he is certainly not international class anymore, if u dont agree, i dont care Link to comment

cowboysfan
sorry to burst the bubble but we dont have the bowlers to make any impact in the world cup, even the windies can beat us easily. Link to comment

But i dont thnk Binny can score 30-40 and bowl some gud 2-3 overs agnst int players!! Unless he prooves himself!! With ur Abhishek Naar point!! I thnk he is far beter dan Binny!!But Irfan is a beter batsman dan Nayar!! Link to comment

Nayar, his batting is good.but bowling,we saw what he did in the game v Windies in CT.even Dhoni outbowled him Link to comment

rahulrulezz
i know its too early.but we dont play any T20Is till then.so assuming no player is 'discovered' in IPL 3 wat will be ur team my team: Sehwag GG Uthappa UV Raina MSD Irfan Bhajji Jadeja Zak PK Reserves: Yusuf KKD RP Mishra FAIL!! Lord
FAIL!! hes there for his bowling n fielding.i put him below Bhajji in batting order.even PK can bat ahead of him if we need quick runs Link to comment

The Dark Horse
Those who'll make it: Veeru Gambo UV MSD Raina Ishant Bhajji Zak Jadeja(Dhoni will make sure he's there) Fringe players: Tyagi Kohli KDK PK Irfan(if his form gets better) RP (ditto) Nehra(:giggle:) Ojha Nayar(forgot to add) New ones to look out for: A.Mithun Ashwin Pandey Pujara(Cant judge him if he is suitable or not unless he plays t20) P.Chawla(could be a handy all rounder) Vijay. Shud not get anywhere near the team unless they perform: Y.Pathan Uthappa R.Sharma. IPL will also be a major factor in selecting the team. Link to comment
saneindian
The team will be chosen on the basis of Indian Pathetic League performances and expect a few surprises there especially with the likelihood of some key players getting injured( who will be playing 5 weeks of IPL immediately after 6-7 months of non stop cricket). Good batting, good bowling and this fielding side is not SO bad either... Link to comment
dr_tooley
Wow what a discussion. So we're in the windies. Hard bouncy pitches and after the C#@K up at the last WC we are going to be seeing a lot of short stuff from all sides. Secondly a lot of you guys are picking 10s and 11s on their batting ability. The fact is, as MS says, the problem is bowling and fielding. India showed yesterday they can hunt down almost any total but the Aussies are never going to put down so many chances and miss so many run outs. So... Sehwag....who else!? Gambhir...can tell this guy to stop trying to get himself run out every bowl! MS...New postion Tendulkar...none of you have picked him, but I bet if he has a good IPL he will go. Yuvi... Raina...gets better every innings. Yusuf Pathan...we need a finisher Bhajji... I Pathan...Will be hungry after losing his contract, watch out for him in the IPL Ishant Sharma...no brainer on bouncy tracks The eleventh slot you can argue the toss between P Kumar, RP Singh, Tyagi and Nehra. All are equally bad in those conditions. What you want is another tall guy to extract bounce like sharma....any ideas. kohli, Karthik and Sharma need to proved themselves against pace before being thought about. All have been shocking bad against short pitched deliveries. Link to comment
