EnterTheVoid Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 When India toured for the Border - Gavaskar trophy, the Adelaide Oval was awesome - the atmosphere was electric, a lot of banter, a lot of heckling - The ones on the boundary copped a lot of abuse, who than copped from the drunken mobs near the scorecard end; This time, the match was so - so; I arrived at lunch and left a couple of hours after; It just wasn't fun

Ram Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Great Pics Sree, thanks for the upload! Gotto admit, the Adelaide Oval makes for a beautiful setting for cricket (apart from the areas under construction, of course..:D) How was the atmosphere Sree? P.S; Looks like you made it home safely even after sitting among 1000s of Aussies for 7 hours, Congrats! :winky: :P
EnterTheVoid Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 How was the atmosphere Sree? Today was Australia Day so national fervour and patriotism was at an all time high. Everybody was in a jovial mood. The crowd were very supporting, clapping, cheering everytime a boundary was hit. When the Pakistanis were cheering "Pakistan Zindabad" or "Jeetega bhai jeetega, Pakistan jeetega", the Australians shouted "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi" There were some funny chants; When the small pockets of Pakistani fans shouted "Pakistan jeetega", the ones I was sitting with retorted "Pakistan got no home" to the same tune. When the ball bounced in front of Akmal and hits him in the chin, the one behind me jeered "Had you had a beard, you'd be right"; During one of the Pakistani misfield, one clapped sarcastically, saying "Putting your body on the line for your country, aren't you, ya d.i.ck.head" If you ever get a chance to watch a cricket match live, don't procrastinate, just go to it. I will be uploading some more pictures and some videoes to youtube later on.
Pakistan-India Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 looks like you were sitting with pakistani supporters, you should have took indian flag so we might have noticed you, but who knows you might have taken pak flag for security reasons!:--D
