CSK Fan Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I've said it before' date=' I'll say it again. Anytime a decision by a white person doesn't go the way non-whites want, it's automatically racism. There is no intelligence or evidence behind the claim, that's just what they scream every time. Whites should simply start ignoring the foolish "race card" from now on.[/quote'] You are misisng the point here. Its not every time a descision goes one way or the other. Its every time two different players get different level of punishments for the same offence that people are forced to sit up and take notice. And if you think thats not been happening, yu must be blind
The Outsider Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Shwetabh' date=' since you argue that Broad's judgements are based on racism and malicious intent [b']everytime, please support your arguments by providing irrefutable evidence that justify this claim. Please justify your allegations with the supporting evidence. By your own admission, the circumstantial evidence you have provided relies heavily on hyperbolae, innuendo and suspicion, which aren't enough if one is levelling allegations are serious as you are. If you claim his judgements based on race have been prevelant for the past 6 years, I request you to provide one, just one example that prove beyond a shadaw of doubt that evidence supporting the black individual was purposefully neglected with the very intention of giving the white person the leniant punishment. By your own admission, you claimed you cannot prove this, nor neither can I, which is why I give Broad the benefit of the doubt until evidence surfaces that convinces me that the view I hold if flawed How can I provide you irrefutable evidence? If there existed some clear proof that the one you are looking for Broad would have been hauled into court a long time back. I can, however, give you many many circumstantial evidences and instances starting with Ponting's shove to Bravo not even deserving a hearing forget about a fine and the discrepant sentences given to Benn vs. Haddin/Johnson. Tony Cozier is saying the same thing here : http://www.cricinfo.com/ausvwi09/content/story/440422.html Kumble has said the same thing. Surely, they cannot accuse Broad of racism out and out given they are publishing their articles in well known media houses and will be sued in the lack of irrefutable evidence, but they are saying it all without invoking the word racist. Let me give you a few more examples : 1. Inzamam and Ganguly were literally shred to bits in 2005 by Broad for slow over rates. And this was in 40 C + temperatures. Broad is yet to impose a single over rate penalty, forget about a ban on a white captain. Can you explain why? Ricky Ponting's over rates were pathetic during the series in India - he did not even get called upon by Broad. Gayle has also been fined for a similar breach in the past. It's obvious to anyone who watches cricket, Australia keep one of the most consistently pathetic over rates in the game. 2. Broad let Justin Langer go free off any punishment when he blatantly dislodged the bails from the stumps and appealed for a decision. Can cheating get any more obvious than this - fecking knocking the bails off the stumps and appealing? 3. During the Watson-Gambhir face off Gambhir got banned and Watson got a hefty 10% fine. 4. Munaf Patel was fined 75% of his match fee last year for giving a send off and Watson a hefty 15% with the added commendation that he is a passionate sportsman blah blah. I supposed only whites can show passion as far as Broad is concerned. Zaheer got 80% from Broad for a similar breach at Mohali last year. 5. Lee and McGrath both got away with "severe reprimands" in '06 even when they were found guilty of verbal abuse towards umpire and opposition - no fine, no ban, reprimand! The above might not be irrefutable proof admissible in some court but is enough circumstantial evidence to show the true colors of this racist scum. And there does not exist a single instance in 6 years of his tenure when he has erred in favor of the black man. Coincidence, lack of judgment, yeah sure! Every petty matter deserves a hearing does it ? What happened to the notion of sorting out ones differences after the game instead of running to the school teacher every time ? So shoving your opponent in a non contact sport like cricket is fine? Wait isn't that what Gambhir did last year and got duly banned?
achilles Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Is it me or was that a truly WTF statement from the referee "Shane is a very energetic and enthusiastic bowler" Is he his lawyer or something ? Chris Broad can have a threesome with Watson & Haddin :finger:
Sachinism Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIjpI-BHLFI]YouTube- Gautam Gambhir Sledging Fights With Shane Watson & co[/ame] Look at this and tell me is it right that all the Aussies got off pretty much scott-free? There was another video, which I can't find at the moment where the audio is clear and you hear everything Katich says to Gambhir and after watching that if you think, the match referee decisions were fair, you either need mental help or you just enjoy the taste of Aussie c.oc.k
achilles Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Australians are F-WITS. End of discussion.
Sachinism Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Watson claims Gayle 'baited me' Shane Watson has justified his exuberant celebration of Chris Gayle's dismissal in Perth by saying he was baited by the captain. Watson was fined 15% of his match fee for his roaring celebration in the second-innings on Saturday and has been criticised for his behaviour, with Geoff Lawson likening it to a four-year-old's tantrum. "There was a bit of build up to it, so it's always nice to get Chris Gayle out, he's obviously one of the most devastating batsmen in the world at the moment," Watson told AAP. "He definitely let me know that he was keen for me to come on to bowl leading up to that, so it was very nice to get him out first ball. http://www.cricinfo.com/ausvwi09/content/current/story/440681.html
achilles Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Yeah rite. Whats next? McGrath was the Pope?

EnterTheVoid Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 How can I provide you irrefutable evidence? I can, however, give you many many circumstantial evidences and instances starting with Ponting's shove to Bravo not even deserving a hearing forget about a fine and the discrepant sentences given to Benn vs. Haddin/Johnson. Tony Cozier is saying the same thing here: Shwetabh, since you are levelling the allegations, it is only reasonable you provide the supporting evidence. The circumstantial evidence you have provided thus far and that you continue to provide, by your own admission, is simply an exercise in "connecting the dots" - in other words, you selectively choose those incidents, from different matches, arising under different circumstances, that confirm to your view and neglect those that fault your argument Would you also not agree that circumstantial evidence is primarily subjective, where the hard black and white facts are colluded by spin and bias ? http://www.cricinfo.com/ausvwi09/content/story/440422.html Kumble has said the same thing. Surely, they cannot accuse Broad of racism out and out given they are publishing their articles in well known media houses and will be sued in the lack of irrefutable evidence, but they are saying it all without invoking the word racist You are asking me to make a judgement in the same way Procter made his against Harbhajan in the acromonious Sydney Test, by taking one mans word over another. With all due respect to Kumble and his colleagues who have raised such concerns, what business do they have in the affairs of the match referee ? Do they have the access to the evidence the match referee has ? As one party in the warring conflict, he will only tell you his side of the story in the same manner his adversary would to defend the allegations leveled against him. Judgements are made on facts; Provide the evidence and if you are able to conclusively prove you were more sinned against than sinned, the judgement would be favourable towards your position; Let me give you a few more examples : 1. Inzamam and Ganguly were literally shred to bits in 2005 by Broad for slow over rates. And this was in 40 C + temperatures. Broad is yet to impose a single over rate penalty, forget about a ban on a white captain. Can you explain why? Lee and McGrath both got away with "severe reprimands" in '06 even when they were found guilty of verbal abuse towards umpire and opposition - no fine, no ban, reprimand! In all the instances you have cited, you have only provided a vague description of the altercation yet failed to shed any light on the circumstances leading up the dispute and those that followed. Are they not considered important or you selectively citing those instances that vindicate your view ? The above might not be irrefutable proof admissible in some court but is enough circumstantial evidence to show the true colors of this racist scum. And there does not exist a single instance in 6 years of his tenure when he has erred in favor of the black man. Coincidence, lack of judgment, yeah sure! Shwetabh, till now, you haven't provided any evidence that vindicates your allegation that Broad makes his judgements on a white - supremacist agenda, in which case it is only fair the benefit of the doubt goes to the defendent. So shoving your opponent in a non contact sport like cricket is fine? Wait isn't that what Gambhir did last year and got duly banned? We can either consider these little nudges and shoves as little 'blips' or overdramatize them and turn cricket into an endless charade of 'he said, she said'; In the long term interests of the game, tell me which you would prefer.

The Outsider Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 sree, I've pretty much said and presented whatever I could on the topic. I can perhaps dig up and find more instances of discrepant judgments by Broad, but it won't really get us anywhere as far as this discussion is concerned because what you are looking for is the kind of irrefutable evidence which could stand up in the court of law. Obviously, providing something like that in these kind of situations in next to impossible. I'll just conclude by saying that ICC had no business to appoint someone like Broad in the first place given his obnoxious track record on the field as far as discipline is concerned and his off field support for institutionalized racist ventures. And ever since his appointment 6 years back not once has he erred in favor of the black man and has repeatedly given soft sentences to white. Bear in mind, till a couple of years back or so even I used to think he is just an incompetent fool making rubbish judgment after another. But there has been no abating his rubbish judgments and over the years a clear pattern has emerged, not only with regards to his decisions but the language surrounding them to satisfy me that his actions are racially motivated. Perhaps it's not enough of a pattern for you, which is fine. You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.
