Ram Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Paks at it again.. India 'foils border infiltration bid' Indian security forces say they have foiled another attempt by militants to infiltrate the international border in Indian-administered Kashmir. Indian officials said there had been an exchange of fire between the Pakistani side and the Indian forces. They said it was the fourth time they had foiled a bid by militants to cross the border since the beginning of 2010. About 30,000 troops have been withdrawn from Indian-administered Kashmir as rebel attacks have decreased. The incident happened in the Kanachak area, about 35km (21 miles) west of Jammu city, on Sunday night. Officials of India's Border Security Force (BSF) said there had been an exchange of fire between them and from the Pakistani side. On Monday morning, Indian security officials said they had found the wire fencing on the border "cut at two points". "Militants are taking advantage of the thick fog along the international border," the official said. Indian Defence Minister AK Antony is due to visit the border areas near Jammu on Tuesday to assess the situation following the infiltration attempts. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8451127.stm A'right, its started again. After a lull of nearly 2 to 3 years, looks like the Pakistani army has resumed shelling along the LoC to facilitate infiltration. Wonder what has changed? Are they trying deflect their peoples' attention away from the troubles on the Western front, by whipping up the Kashmir issue again? Or, have some elements within the Pakistani military decided to act unilaterally and take matters into their own hands. Whatever their reasoning, this could only mean one thing - More trouble.

Ram Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Kashmir police station attacked Militants in Indian-administered Kashmir have attacked a police station, killing one police officer and a civilian, officials say. They say that three policemen and another civilian were injured in the attack in the town of Sopore 55km (35 miles) north-west of Srinagar. Latest reports say that police and the militants are still exchanging gunfire. Violence in Kashmir has decreased since 2004 when India and Pakistan signed a peace treaty. But in recent weeks there have been outbreaks of fighting. Last week security forces stormed a hotel in Srinagar killing two gunmen and ending a stand-off that lasted almost 24 hours. Flashpoint Panicked shop owners in Sopore are reported to be fleeing the latest violence. "We downed shutters of our shops and started running away as we first heard sounds of explosions followed by gunshots," Firdous Ahmed told the AP news agency. No rebel group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier this week the Indian defence minister announced that troops had vacated all hospitals and schools in Indian-administered Kashmir because of the improving security situation there. A 20-year insurgency against Indian rule in Jammu and Kashmir has claimed more than 47,000 lives since 1990. Kashmir has been a flashpoint between India and Pakistan for more than 50 years and the scene of two of their three wars. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8460864.stm Not a good start to the new year at all..

This is about India and pakistan. Indian govt does not represent Hinduism nor does it claim to. The duty of the Indian govt is to protect Indian lives, and for that instability in pakistan seems to be desirable as the chart in the OP shows. It would be worthwhile for you to keep in mind that the aggressor in this undeclared war is pakistan and not India. As for your attempt at equivalence with suicide bombers, I would like to know what you think our RAW is for? Singing bhajans at Wagah? All I am saying is that RAW should do its duty, which it did in 1971 in East Bengal and which it did in Karachi in the 90s before being defanged by the traitor IK Gujral. Right now pakistan is teeming with people with a desire to blow themselves up at the drop of a suicide vest. Surely they can be used to keep the pakistani army busy from otherwise training more anti-India jihadists.

What you call the "dirty work" is one of the main duties of RAW and indeed of any other self respecting intelligence agency agency in the world. Creating instability in a hostile country is a perfectly routine thing for intelligence agencies to do. No amount of pejoratives you use can hide the ignorance you have displayed in your understanding of this matter. By the way, the people who join RAW or volunteer for deputation there are perfectly clear about the history and purpose of RAW. Unlike you.
