I have actually seen Manish Pandey bat' date=' but this dude does seem to have the uncanny ability to deliver when the team needs it the most. [b']The best part, he does it by counter-attacking and not by shutting shop. He's a definite Indian prospect going forward. Same with Ashwin also - Never seen him bat or bowl, but looks like he was the difference b/w the two teams in the semis. Maybe we should give him a trial run in some ODIs (given that he's a utility cricketer) and see whats what. He could be a potential candidate for the no.8 batting spot in ODIs and definite threat to Harbhajan.
Oh NO!! You might wanna take your words back as it would hurt those traditionalists I rather watch Dravids 42 of 205 balls than Sehwags 65 of 60 ballls here ...

Dissapointed with Piyush' date=' same thing happened last year when Dinesh K took him apart in the South v Central match he got pretty badly smashed around[/quote'] Yes, with Piyush, it is always better to look at the season statistics rather than isolate a single match. He is prone to getting hit about in the odd match, but overall this year, he has performed well and far better than in previous years.

Indore wicket heals old wounds Heena Zuni Pandit INDORE: The wicket rolled out for the just concluded Duleep Trophy semifinal between Central Zone and South Zone in Indore stood out for its sporting nature. It had something for everyone: pacers picked up wickets early on, batsmen found the pace and bounce to their liking, and the spinners, too, came into play as the game wore on. "The wicket offered help to everyone to strut their stuff. It's kind of an ideal wicket," said South Zone skipper S.Badrinath. Echoing his thoughts, Central Zone skipper Mohammad Kaif said: "I hope we can have similar wickets across the country. It ensures a fair contest between bat and ball, which can bring crowds to domestic cricket." Interestingly, it's wicket at the Nehru Stadium that brought bad name to this bustling city, also known as `mini Mumbai'. The venue was struck off the international cricketing map for two years after a match between India and Sri Lanka was called off as the wicket was deemed dangerous to play on. With that incident still in the back of his mind, a word of appreciation on the wickets works as a balm on the bruised ego of Samandar Singh, the curator. "It was really painful to see our venue banned and cop criticism from across all quarters," he said. He, however, didn't allow criticism overwhelm him and decided to redeem the wicket and himself as well. "I brought soil from nearby brick kilns and worked on different combinations. It took me three years to roll out a completely new and suitable wicket," said the curator. International cricket returned to the venue on March 31, 2001, witnessing Sachin Tendulkar become the first player to reach 10,000 runs in ODIs. Impressed, the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) entrusted the job of preparing wicket at the Maharani Usha Raje Stadium, the new stadium, to Samandar Singh. They must have been smiling with satisfaction as the two skippers heaped praises on the wicket during the Duleep Trophy semifinals.

From CI 8.5 IK Pathan to Satish, 1 run, 122.7 km/h, back of a length delivery, gets behind the delivery and drops it with soft hands to the off side for a quick single, Pathan runs across and looks to kick the ball and he seems to have injured his ankle. Chandru: "All said the 120K's phace bolwing is no good for international games. Patan is just getting the early morning due help him here.. lot more to watch for once the due factor is gone." Looks like Irfan Pathan just cant get cross the 80mph barrier. So all the talk of having re-discovered his bowling rhythm and the pace wasn't correct and made up by some overexcited news reporter!

useless karthik gets a 100 whenever he plays in the domestic and gets selected for the national teams and bottles up...
He is capable of handling most of the bowling these days. He just doesn't have test match temperament for a lower order batsman. He can do well as an opener which he is never going to get. I think once the seniors are gone he will have come out on his own. One thing about KKD is you can never write him off. He keeps coming back.

:hahaha: Dinesh Karthik has this habit of scoring a big 100, every time he's dropped. He does it almost every single time. Maybe he should be picked in the Indian team and dropped every second game. That way, every time he plays a game, he'll score a 100. :woot:
