^^ Can't agree more. The way he has fattened out in the last two years tells us everything about how much he cares. His weight gain is embarrassing for any 22-year old guy, leave alone a supposedly "professional" athlete.

Badrinath (105, 91b) paced his innings in such a way that Mumbai ran out of bowling options. Tamil Nadu amassed 302 in 50 overs, then needed just 35 overs of attacking cricket to restrict Mumbai to 128. Debutant M. Prabhu picked up four for 34. Viswanath Vadodara: Shreevats Goswami (149 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara (110) delivered two contrasting centuries for their respective sides at the Moti Bagh Palace here on Thursday in the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal between Bengal and Saurashtra. Nearly 14 months after he bid adieu from international cricket, Sourav Ganguly turned out to be a hit with the bat scoring an 83-ball 87. Arindham Das's departure in the 11th over, after Bengal began the 255-run chase in a rousing fashion, brought the former India captain to the middle. Ganguly danced down the wicket to send the ball soaring for five sixes and drove and cut fiercely on five occasions for the ball to race to the fence. It turned out to be the winning shot. “He (Goswami) did not play a Ranji Trophy match this season. He has the potential to make it big, provided he's consistent. He is also a wicketkeeper,'' said Ganguly. Pujara hits century Earlier, Saurashtra, put in, drew strength from Pujara's 112-ball 110 with 10 fours and one six that once again underlined the right-hander's undiminished enthusiasm and objective to score heavily at every opportunity. Viswanath Arindham Das (59, 10 x 4) and Shreevats Goswami's (45, 6x4, 1x6) opening stand of 111 runs helped Bengal beat Karnataka by four wickets and entered the final of the Vijay Hazare limited- overs tournament. The opening pair played some bold shots against the Karnataka new ball operators and laid a solid foundation after which the middle order in Manoj Tiwary (61 not out, 101 balls, 5 x 4s) and Wridhiman Saha added 74 runs for the fifth wicket to ensure Bengal's passage into the final to be played on March 2. Tiwary struck the winning shot of the last ball in the 49th over. Perhaps Karnataka would rue the catch spilled by Manish Pandey at mid-on of Tiwary when Bengal was 200 for four and the asking rate was around six runs. Pakre impresses Earlier, Bengal's left-arm spinner Soumya Pakre, who impressed with a tidy spell, broke the partnership between R. Vinay Kumar, sent in at No. 3 and Rahul Dravid. Abhinav Mukund stars for TN Nandakumar Marar Tamil Nadu advanced to the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy without being stretched. The defending champion amassed 348 for five on the strength of composed batting from the top five at the Madhavrao Scindia ground on Saturday, then choked the Madhya Pradesh run-flow for a 134-run semifinal victory. Opener Abhinav Mukund (130) and fast bowler Yo Mahesh (three for 49) made significant contributions. Chasing 349, MP went off track at 103-4 in the 22nd over. The dismissal of Naman Ojha (31, 2x4, 3x6), Mohnish Mishra (41, 8x4) left Harpreet Singh in charge of the run chase. The responsibility of masterminding the assault till the end curbed the left-hander's exuberance. TN's bowlers ability to bowl as per field placements and the rival batsmen's inability to improvise did the rest. Fruitful partnerships Skipper Mukund, after electing to bat, featured in two fruitful partnerships, 177 for the first wicket with opening partner S. Aniruddha (76, 7x4) and 99 for the third wicket with S. Badrinath (58, 8x4, 1x6). Aniruddha attacked at every opportunity, Badrinath displayed class again with clean hitting. It has virtually crushed every opponent on its way to the final where it will meet a determined bunch from Bengal at the Sardar Patel stadium at Motera here on Tuesday. Except for a league tussle against Karnataka where a mere two runs separated the top two teams in the South Zone, Tamil Nadu has hardly broken a sweat. Seven outright wins fashioned by its competent batting and bowling departments, especially in the knock-out matches leading to the title round, has put Tamil Nadu on a firm footing against a side whose top-order has delivered in the knock-out phase. The return of Dinesh Karthik, Murali Vijay and R. Ashwin after their stint with the Indian team in the third ODI against South Africa will bolster the side. Top priority Winning the silverware in the premier limited-overs tournament is a top priority for Tamil Nadu which had good reason to be disappointed at the turn of events in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Delhi. But, Tamil Nadu coach W.V. Raman, not long ago the coach of Bengal, is not complacent. “It will be a good final. We don't want to give excuses that we could not field a full team,” Raman said after the nets session watched by national selection committee chairman K. Srikkanth. The latter also took the opportunity to have a meeting with the team in the dressing room. Last year, Tamil Nadu beat Bengal in the final at Agartala. “They made 284 and I was run out at a crucial stage. We are in the final for the third straight year. Hope we will be lucky this time,” said Bengal skipper Laxmi Ratan Shukla. Manager Rusi Jeejeebhoy expressed similar sentiments. Bengal lost two matches in the league, but beat Saurashtra and Karnataka in the knock-out stage, thanks to two solid opening stands between Arindam Das and Shreevats Goswami and some solid performances by Sourav Ganguly, Manoj Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha. Goswami to the fore Bengal's campaign has been led by the diminutive left-hander Goswami. He is the tournament's top run-getter with 487, four more than Abhinav Mukund. Tamil Nadu has arrived here with two 300-plus scores on the flat deck at the Race Course ground at Rajkot while Bengal played in conditions that assisted the seamers at Moti Bagh Palace ground at Vadodara.
