Clarke Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 nope but this has been the MO of Mossad for many years and i fail to see who else will have orchestrated this elaborate plot to kill a weapons procurer for hamas. Thats what i like to believe as well .. point is one has to prove it with concrete evidence. For instance, we caught Kasab on 26/11. The media got to his home in Faridkot and soon the truth was out. By then Kasab was talking as well. That was the single most important reason we could hold Pakistan accountable. All the recorded telephonic conversations are supplementary, one needs something hardcore to hold another country accountable. Israel has not denied this was a Mossad operation, nor have they accepted it. The Israeli newspapers have carried detailed reports of who in Mossad planned this, why it was given the go ahead and how the agents were welcomed back after the mission. Thats because Mossad reports directly to the Israeli PM, no one beneath the PM would have any clue on Mossad and its missions. The media reports can be dismissed as speculation by the Israeli govt, it does not count as evidence. Did they leak documents as such authorizing this, or was there any whistle blower ? In other news, the head of Dubai Police has demanded the arrest of Mossad chief :hysterical: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article7032863.ece

But considering the media reports both within Israel and outside and no firm denial by Israeli govt we can be reasonably sure that Mossad did it.
yoda Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 excellent investigation. thanks for posting this seedhi.
EnterTheVoid Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Mossad has a don't ask, don't tell policy, they neither formally acknowledge their activities nor deny it, but generally speaking, they are known to be ruthlessly efficient. After the 1972 attacks on the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics, then prime minister of Israel, Golda Meir initiated "Operation Wrath of God" in response to avenge and deter future attacks. Mossad, for their part, launched a series of targeted assassinations, murder, torture etc where they hunted down those connected directly and indirectly to the attack from Syria / Lebanon to Western Europe. Read up about the intelligence they gathered on the Egyptian air bases in the 6 day war of 1967 or their smuggling of Dimona technician Mordechai Vanunu by using Cheryl Bentov as bait or their involvement in the destruction of the Osirak reactor or how one of their spies, Eli Cohen, infiltrated the highest echelons of Syrian government or .... , See, Israel faces an existential threat and their response, is in general, criticized to be disproportionate. Here, Arik Sharon explains why: [ame= Ariel Sharon, Soldier of Truth.[/ame]
Lurker Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Such covert operations have to be sanctioned at the highest level of the govt. The Indian govt does not have the political will to do so. True indeed. None of the Indian Government have shown the steel to do this. Forget about the Congress who has officially always been against anything like this, even the BJP-SS combo have rarely done anything regarding this. BJP handed over terrorists after Kandahar and SS, well far from hitting Mumbai underworld are busy slaughtering North Indians. Depending on whom you want to listen there is a well circulated rumour that Thackeray clan have business interest tied to SS. Not to mention Thackeray Sr. hosted the samadhi of Dawood at his home. I do think if BJP made this as part of their election manifesto, as in reserving the right to send teams inside other nations, they would do much well in coming elections. xxx
EnterTheVoid Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 See, Israel faces an existential threat and has so for the last 60 years, going back to the 1948 war of Independence soon after its creation. It is surrounded by very hostile countries that not only deny the first holocaust, but also brag about the second, fantasizing over the destruction of Israel. As Arik said, unless its clear that there is a heavy price to pay for Jewish blood, Israel won't survive.
ViruRulez Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Hamas is a terrorist organization and deserve no respect or sympathy .. at the same time all the human rights violaters in Israel also need to be punished soon .. terrorism should end everywhere in the world
EnterTheVoid Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 In other news' date=' the head of Dubai Police has demanded the arrest of Mossad chief[/quote'] Israel is an extension of America's power in the region. No action will be taken against Meir Dagan for the same reason the arrest warrant against Tzipi Livni was overturned, the damage to international relations with Israel isn't worth it. For a country their size, the power they yield is amazing.
Guest DeveGowda Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I read a news flash in times NOW yesterday where hamas rejected its Mossad hand in the Killing (we cant use Assasination for criminals) I watched Munich Some time back..wondreful movie....
achilles Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Remember the incident where they injected the now supreme leader of Hamas with poison and were then forced to give anti-dote :hysterical: When was this? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Right now India is getting some sort of cooperation from countries like Oman etc. On the other hand, we should definitely try something out like this in pakistan (maybe Nepal and Bangladesh as well). I think India had some sort of covert operation going on in pakistan till 1997 when Gujral wound it up. Hopefully it has since been restored atleast to some extent. It is a known fact that the Chhota Rajan gang has been (ab)used by the RAW to bump off several D gang members. One was done in recently in Nepal. Btw I dont believe the Dawood and Thakeray link because the latter was on top of D-gang hitlist for quite some time. I have heard more about Pawar being linked to Thakeray. Also, I dont want any party to put covert operations into their manifesto. These things shouldnt be made explicitly or even quasi-officially public otherwise the whole point is lost.
EnterTheVoid Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 When was this? In 1997, two Mossad agents were captured in Jordan, their mission was to assassinate Khaled Mashal, leader of Hamas, at a pro Hamas rally in Amman. They used fake Canadian passports to disguise their identity. The planned to kill him by spraying a lethal nerve toxin in his left ear IIRC The agents were chased by one of Masahal's bodyguards, who were later apprehended by Jordanian authorities. In exchange for the agents, Israel had to give the antidote as well as release some 70 odd prisoners they were holding in their dungeons. The guy who ordered the hit was Benjamin "BIBI" Netaynahu. At first he refused, but later caved in to pressure from Bill Clinton.

Anonymous Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 We should outsource assassinations of Dawood and the top brass of LeT, JuD etc. to Mossad. It's not going to cost more than a few million dollars and will play a big part in reducing terror threats in India. RAW is the most inept spy agency from the top countries and it's a given that they are not going to improve, so might as well use some money power and outsource contracts. If someone like Dawood had done anything against Israel that he did against India he would have been dead years back. There are a lot of things I dislike about Israel, but one can have nothing but admiration for the manner in which Mossad operates. Exactly my thoughts mate..
