Gunner_Mania Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I am not sure. He seems to be in the form of his life and I would like him to play as many as he can until 2011 WC. On the other hand I also feel he shouldn't be playing in meaningless ODIs and dead rubbers and give a chance to test the bench strength. What do you guys feel?
sm332 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 if there are any doubts about his body he should be ... it is a dead rubber the series is sealed.
flamy Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 actually we should play our whole bench, so a lot of people can be rested.
Laaloo Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 He will be rested. He knows better than all of us when he should rest or not.
Online Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 actually we should play our whole bench' date=' so a lot of people can be rested.[/quote'] then next time don't come and complain to me that "Aussies had an undefeated summer, why can we not show the same ruthlessness"
punjabiplaya Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 well whens the next game if its not for a while..he may as well play as hes in such good form, but he will know himself if hes tired and able to give 100%
Guest Hiten. Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 No he should be dropped. The form he has shown I won't be surprised if he's already sleeping on A'bad's pitch :giggle:. He should be rested. I don't care about the clean sweep its about time we test our bench because WC is coming up in about year's time. This ODI series victory is sweeter because we're missing Zak, Bhajji, Gauti and UV who are four of our star ODI performers.

satishg Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 SRT will not play the next match. fixed! :winky:
Desi Cartman Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 yes all seniors should be rested from one 50 overs match so they are fit to play IPL :isalute:
DomainK Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Depends on him. He will decide if he wants to come out and score another century or not. I have a feeling that he will rest and Sehwag will take his turn to score a century.

Our fielding has been better in the last 2 matches because we are missing these players. :P
spectre Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 NO, go for the kill Rest from IPL and play all ODIs till the WC and getting that trophy
Ram Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I'd be HUGELY surprised to see him on the starting eleven for the 3rd ODI. But who knows, he might surprise us all, just like he did when he was standing at slips, for ball 1 of the South African reply.
THX_1138 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 he is too old... drop him already. he has done nothing of note in the last 17 hours. how long is the team going to carry this grandfather?
THX_1138 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Depends on him. He will decide if he wants to come out and score another century or not. I have a feeling that he will rest and Sehwag will take his turn to score a century. yeah yeah... totally selfish player. always wants to think about scoring centuries for himself. what good is a hundred runs to a team? its not like it increases our total or improves our chances of winning!
Lord Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 looks like both Sachin n Veeru r gonna be rested.good decision.will test our bench.doesnt matter even if we lose.Yusuf should open with KKD. Nayar should come in
ViruRulez Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 actually we should play our whole bench' date=' so a lot of people can be rested.[/quote'] :dito: We are nowhere near the no.1 rank too .. just checked the ODI rankings (BTW did not get the ODI ranking points .. I mean WTF .. checked the predictor tool and we get just 1 point for beating SA while Aus lose only 1 point even if they are defeated by NZ) .. so this is a purely dead rubber and of no benefit On a serious note, did anyone check the ODI rating points.. WTF is that .. we used to lose hell lot of points when we were beaten by any lower team in an ODI match .. but now after winning against SA we are only getting 1 point per match and I checked with the predictor tool and it seems Aus will merely lose one point each if they lose matches against NZ .. were we not losing 2-3 points every match when we loss any match when we were no.1
