But with smaller grounds and pitches as flat as roads, it is due to one of the reasons that played a factor in Tendulkar breaking the record. This is not to take anything away from Tendulkar, but let's face it the Rajkot pitch was flat as road, the outfield as fast as lightning, and the ground one of the smallest grounds in cricket. So you see, Sachin Tendulkar's knock is a by-product of all these factors and ofcourse his cricketing ability. Cricket is evolving and this is just one of its results. In Anwar's time, there was no ball change after 34 overs and no 5 over batting powerplay and freehit rule either.

Anwar is like a passing cloud. Are you saying Tendulkar needs these things to score a 200? He averaged 58 through 1990s where even 50 average was a phenomenal achievement. If you are talking about coventry, tamim iqbal and noobs atleast you have a point. This guy has played in an era before Anwar and an era after Anwar.

Scores against the mighty bowling lineup of Prasad, Kuruvilla and third best fast bowler in the team AKA Kumble. This Man A cannot run by himself and wants a byrunner who by himself is a retard(but gets the job done). Man A finally gets 194 and doesn't take the field due to cramps Man B has always been consistent enough and decides to take apart the the world's best bowling lineup. He never wants any byrunner of any sort. Overcomes his cramps by beautifully picking up boundaries in the gaps and finally scores 200*. Man B doesn't waste any time and comes back to takes the field right away without any qualms. Now can someone answer me who the real man is? :finger::finger::finger::finger: PS: I have a lot of respect for Man A, but Man B is just simply too good.

Tendulkar broke the record in 45 overs. None of your points hold water. Anwar would have never crossed 100 without a runner that day. He started using runner very very early.

For that matter bowling records created on bouncy and green and seaming pitches should be similarly devalued... care to agree....?????

There have been smaller grounds than these, flatter ptich than these(Remember the Aus/SA match wehre SA chased 434?) but no one has yet managed it except the best batsman ever
