not seen the match or the highlights yet. But, don't forget guys - these are new guys. One shouldn't be too harsh on their performance based on one match.

Kirsten: 'I’m quite excited with what I saw of Mithun' Ahmedabad, Feb 27, DHNS: Coach Gary Kirsten cautioned against judging India’s reserves on the back of just one isolated performance. “It’s always difficult to judge players on the back of one game. This was an opportunity for us to give some of the younger guys a go, but we won’t judge them on this one game. “It’s not easy for the likes of Tyagi and Mithun to bowl on such a good batting track. You need to be very accomplished, and they would have learnt that if you are even slightly off target, you could disappear from the ground. I was quite excited with what I saw from Mithun, he bowled well at times,” Kirsten said after India went down by 90 runs to South Africa in the final one-dayer on Saturday. http://www.deccanherald.com/content/55352/im-quite-excited-saw-mithun.html

I seriously think we should stop creating batting pitches, they are not doing any good to our bowlers. Very unfair, 350+ scores are being scored so regularly, making the contest one sided. Bowlers being creamed all over the park is not a good sight, if it was against Bangla boys I could have understood as they have **** bowlers, agianst South Africa 400, OZ and India 350+ common. Maybe soon we will start seeing 450+, very ridiculous and bad for the game. Tendulkar's record may even be broken by the look at Inidan pitches. Pathtic man, who in India would want to be a bowler maybe some Appam Ch***** but everyone are dieing to be the next Sachin. We need a Bowling Role Model

We got one ajit_agarkar_5892271.jpg
After seeing the crap that our specialist bowlers have bowled over the last few years I have a new found respect for Agarkar. At least he used to take a few wickets while going for runs :(( Istill think he was pretty good during middle and slog overs - it was the initial power play overs he used to struggle in. If the current crop of fast bowlers don't improve I say bring him back for death overs.

It's pretty ridiculous to judge two new bowlers based on just one performance on a flat track against the top batting side. But just for comparision Sreesanth was giving away his runs at more than 1-2 runs per over than these even though he had the new ball. Does this mean we completely drop Sree? Like it or not this was our 2nd class attack. These two guys need at least two/three years of experience and proper support to build up their strength/stamina and consistency so that they can genuinely contend for ODI/Test spots in a few years, not now. If anything, it should be far more experienced guys like Sree/Pathan that should be making their challenge to be included in the team.

firstly i do think Mithun is too raw specially with his bowling action which needs to be refined. Tyagi has good run' date=' bowling action, but sometimes loose rhythm on delivery stride and he tries to do too much on every delivery, needs do basics right, bowl a bit straighter on the off stump line[/quote'] Surprising the bowling action and mistakes are not caught at lower levels of cricket. What are the junior coaches doing?? Tyagi has pace (I went by Cricinfo but someone said it is in the 120s) but stops at the bowling crease during delivery giving enough time for batsmen to adjust their stance. Mithun bowls military medium pace and he should bowl with his body close to his stumps at his end. He has a lot to improve. We need bowlers to be groomed for the WC and I think Nehra and PK are much better. Lastly, Sreesanth should be dropped and never picked again.

i m not too unhappy with Tyagi n Mithun.they r new n will get better. but WTF was Sree doing?he went for 8 over.he should be dropped n picked for tests only.by picking him for ODIs selectors r runing who could be a very good test bowler. Dhoni talks about lack of quality bowlers in every press conference.n then proceeds to pick losers like Sree in every game:wall:

In a land of countless trundlers, Tyagi and Mithun are like goldust. They should be nurtured, nourished, pampered and groomed and mentored for Indian cricket's sake. VERY VERY excited by these two. It isnt often that you find 20-21 year old pace bowlers in international cricket.

Tyagi is a definite talent. He also has brisk pace to go with his talent. Mithun needs work. He can certainly generate more pace than what he showed in the recent ODI. But he is a serious injury risk because of his action. All swinging arms and legs is what I see on the screen when Mithun is bowling. About coaches not spotting problems, none of our coaches seem to have spotted a major issue with Ishant's follow through where he does a hop skip jump routine after every single delivery!

I saw similar threads on Jadeja as well during the T20 wc & look how hes turned it around ..give them some time , or atleast couple of matches before making an opinion . feel sorry for both Tyagi and Mithun , probably the worst possible debut ...apart from the fact that it was a flat track , having no experienced bowlers to guide on your very first match is hardly ideal . few things I have been saying & I will stick to , about Mithun ... He can hit 145+ in Aus or more like Sharma did & has a very very effective yorker , which unfortunately dint come off today . some of you are forgetting hes played only 5-6 50 over matches for his state . would like to see more of Tyagi though , only seen him in few IPL matches .
I agree. Mithun seemed to have lost his rhtym in this match and was obviously nervous and aprehesive. He was not going all out. I have seen him in doemstic and he seems a much better bowler than seen in this match

Good to see Mithun bubble burst in a dead rubber already. I hope he enjoyed his short lived stint as a mystery tearaway genuine phaast Indian bowler. :((
