I laugh at folks who think India is SAFE. if the mumbai attackers could hop on a boat and land in mumbai and then take control of the city for almost like 3 frickin days, how safe is really India? Go figure...... This is your problem. In India, we have cricket, we have businesses running as usual. foreign dignitaries and business men still come here and invest billions. There are more foreigners looking to work in India than ever and even the people who left for greener pastures returning back voluntarily. But yet, you keep harping about that one attack. Meanwhile in Pakiland, Blackwater is the only organization willing to do business in Pakistan. People are dying due to weekly terrorist activities. Govt. is being held ransom by Mr.10%. US is bombing inside your country and you cant do anything. Yet, instead of acknowledging that, you equate India to Pakistan. Kinda proves what the OP was saying.

Well guess what...same were the sources which said that there are WMD in Iraq, Osama is in Afghanistan and bla bla. Keep these sources to yourself. How about you go and check the daily crime and murder rate in US and all across Europe then come back to me and talk about dangerous countries. You guys talk about crime and terrorism....a little reality check...your country have been actively involved in terrorist activities in Kashmir since 1947. Your terrorist army have killed more than 100,000 innocent people there so don't point fingers at other when your own hands are soaked in blood.

Not just because the Pakis can live peacefully, but because even India in particular and the world in general will be a much much safer place, if Pakistan is trouble free. Having said that -- I am a VERY VERY realistic analyst. And what I have stated are just facts. I just dont go by emotions. What I stated is not what I wanted or did not want, but are facts which I had guessed and have been proven true over time, which even you deep down in your heart cannot deny.

Go figure...... :hmmm: What do you want say about the terrorists (afridis cousins) who stopped by and welcomed the sl team and the umps with congratulatory bullets when your team was busy having fun back at the hotel? What do you want to say about the terrorists who in the middle of the day, in freaking broad daylight, attacked an international team ( with "presidental level security") and left the scene UNTOUCHED, UNHARMED in a busy city?

I have only one thing to say -- after seeing half a decent educated fools like urself and ucilite -- I have absolutely NO HOPE for your country. Absolutely None. Which is why I have made all those predictions about what Pakistan is going to be in 10 years -- It is just because I get to interact with people like you who make up more than 50% of your population. You guys live in such an unrealistic wolrd -- even God cannot save you.

What I stated is not what I wanted or did not want, but are facts which I had guessed and have been proven true over time, which even you deep down in your heart cannot deny. what facts dude? did you know 9/11 was going to happen? did anyone predict 9/11? you are just jumping on the 'lets blame pakistan for everything' bandwagon and it doesn't surprise me a bit becasue of where you come from. we know we have problems and no one is denying that. we are going through a very difficult time but it is my believe and trust in God that we as a nation can pull out of this. and if we can't pull out of this mess then obviously we have no one else to blame but us.

It is very similar to the lahore attacks and to think about there are every foreigners in IPL waiting for one more attack and leave. Although it might not be as worse as Pakistan, but we will lie if we say we do not suffer similarly

achilles Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Let me tell you a small story: between 2002 and 2005 I used to work for a bank and I used to sit in the same room with a Bangladeshi and two Americans. One American was a CowBoy -- who probably wouldn't even know the Capital of Canada, let alone anything about Pakistan. Another guy Jim was quite unlike normal American interested in World Politics etc etc. His knowledge about world was quite good if not extraordinary and would always get into good debate with me. I used to constantly harp about how bad of a place Pakistan is and how it was probably the most dangerous country in the world and he would constantly shoot me down saying "You Indians -- of course you guys hate the Pakis and you always consider them low". I tried to convince him otherwise (mind you this was just about the time Iraq war was going on ) but he would not listen. I told him -- "Mark My Worlds -- Unless Things change dramatically in that country -- This country is going to the Shyte Hole". He would just give me a wry smile -- as if to say -- "Yeah Right". We have moved on since then and six years since -- he talks to me on the phone and whenever that conversation comes up -- tells me -- "Dude you were so right about Pakistan. That is one God Awful Place". I had predicted this situation in fact 10 years ago--and I had even had arguments on the Indian Express Forum where the Pakis would come in **** load (because there was no registration). It is all for everybody to see 10 years since. Point I am trying to make here -- People are bloody stupid to be thinking Pakistan is a Dangerous Place Just because the attacks on cricketers took place. I laugh at them. It was a Dangerous Country 10 years ago. It is a Dangerous Country Today. It Will be Extremely Dangerous 10 Years From Now !!!!! (unless something Dramatic Happens ) I understand your opinion. But can't we give them another chance? One last chance? We don't want a nuclear war to erupt, which will, if Pakistan are attacked. See, there is a dignified difference between our countries' governments. I would like it to stay that way. Also, the people of Pakistan and India are just as helpless as each other and its all upto the government to take decisions. People aren't responsible for their government screwing up. People have little or no say in decisions, although in India, we have a lot more say than the average Pakistanis. If our government does the same thing they do, what is the difference between them and us?

I feel sorry for the people of Pakistan, but they do NOTHING to change the situation there. OH REALLY!! FORBE'S TOP 15 DANGEROUS COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD 1. Afghanistan U.S. President Barack Obama has pledged to send thousands more American troops to Afghanistan, but the Taliban insurgency is growing in scope, scale and confidence. Many Afghans have become disgruntled with the government's failure to improve their socioeconomic circumstances; some have even taken up arms with the Taliban for a wage. The area bordering Pakistan is the most dangerous, but violence is spreading to rural areas, with insurgents increasingly targeting civilians as well as security forces. 2. Iraq While there has been a fall in violence in the last year, militants are concentrating their attacks on infrastructure, with a concerted effort to strike at the heart of the government. Around 4,500 civilians were killed in Iraq last year, according to Iraq Body Count, an independent monitoring organization. Security experts believe that Iraqi elections slated for March 7 will be accompanied by a rise in sectarian violence driven by former Baathists and al-Qaida. 3. Somalia Somalia is known for its piracy problem, but the situation on land has also been extremely chaotic. The government of President Adullahi Yusuf Ahmed has struggled to gain control beyond parts of the capital, Mogadishu, while militant insurgents have expanded their control in southern Somalia. Despite an international anti-piracy naval mission in the Gulf of Aden, pirates have staged dozens of successful hijackings, several as far south in as the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. 4. Pakistan Locals here are losing confidence in their shaky and besieged civilian government, which has been launching offensives against Taliban militants; yet a crushing wave of terrorist attacks continues. According to risk consultancy iJet, sectarian and ethnic violence in the commercial capital of Karachi has shown that Pakistan’s problems run much deeper than the challenges posed by the Taliban. 5. Sudan Ethnic violence in southern Sudan has been escalating dramatically, surpassing conflict-ridden Darfur. Bandits have been targeting foreign aid workers in particular, making the western region especially insecure. Rising political tensions between the north and south will probably increase as elections approach in 2010 and a referendum on southern independence takes place in 2011. 6. Yemen On the Arabian peninsula and bordering Saudi Arabia, Yemen has been beset by a number of complex security challenges: A widening conflict between the north and south and a separatist rebellion in the north has drawn in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, al-Qaida is ever-present. The sudden and recent focus on Yemen by Western powers may bring in more money and training, but it may also invigorate Islamists spoiling for yet another fight with the West. 7. Democratic Republic of Congo Human rights abuses and violence against civilians have been worsening in this former French colony in central Africa. The military has been aggressively tracking down Hutu rebels, which has increased insecurity in the Eastern provinces. A survey by the Red Cross in 2009 showed that three-quarters of the population had been affected in some way by continuing armed conflict. 8. Guinea Guinea's future started to look more uncertain when the military junta led by Captain Moussa Dadis Camarra showed no signs of returning power to civilian rule. There was a massacre of opposition supporters in Conakry and, in return, an assassination coup attempt against Camarra by his aide. Camarra is still hospitalized in Senegal and the country is being led by an interim president--political chaos could continue for some time. 9. Russian Caucasus Violence in Russia’s North Caucasus--including Chechnya, North Ossetia and Daghestan--is on the rise with July 2009 being one of the bloodiest months in years, according to the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Strategic and International Studies. There were 445 deaths due to violent incidents in the region in 2009, compared with 217 in the previous year. Recent attacks by Islamic extremists in the region have focused on the local police force and government leaders. 10. Nigeria Oil-rich Nigeria is Africa's most populous nation, yet violence continues to be driven by religious fundamentalists fighting over the imposition of Islamic (or Sharia) law while kidnappings and attacks target the oil industry. President Umaru Yar'Adua recently went AWOL after flying to Saudi Arabia to be treated for a heart complaint. Angry protestors point to a cover-up on the seriousness of his condition, putting the country in constitutional crisis. 11. Chad Right in the middle of Africa, Chad's strenuous relations with Sudan are key to the conflict in Darfur, and the two countries have accused each other of supporting rebels fighting for more power. Reuters recently reported that rebels from Chad were raping, beating and looting villagers in western Sudan's North Darfur region. The country is one of the poorest and most politically corrupt in the world. 12. The Sahel The border region of Algeria, Niger, Mali and Mauritania has seen several kidnappings by al-Qaida of foreign tourists and diplomats from Spain, Austria and Canada, among other countries. The United Nations has also sounded the alarm about drug smuggling after the discovery of a burnt-out Boeing airliner in the Malian desert that was allegedly transporting cocaine from South America. 13. Haiti One of the world's most impoverished nations, this former French colony has been beset by political violence since it became the first black republic in 1804. United Nations troops helped settle some of the gang violence that swept through the country several years ago, but poverty and hunger continue to fuel violence, as does political instability. This week's disastrous earthquake that destroyed much of Port-au-Prince is likely to make things much worse. 14. Colombia Over the last 10 years Colombia has managed to bring down its murder and kidnapping rates and successfully contain insurgents and paramilitary groups. But the conflict between military forces and guerrillas, all played out against a backdrop of the illegal drugs trade and fighting over natural resources, has yet to be clear and has led millions of people to flee the country. 15. Zimbabwe The coalition government between dictator-president Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai formed in February 2009 doesn't seem to have stopped the fear of organized violence fuelled by political allegiances. Members of the opposition party led by Tsvangirai claim to have received death threats and fear another surge of politically motivated violence at the country's next election. Rather unfortunately, the 85-year-old Mugabe still looks to be in good health.
