don_corleone840 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 This is a slap to ian chapple who said that indians cant hold no1 postion for long.India infact becomes only second team ever to complete three months at top in icc rankings.India is miles way better than any team in world and i will not be surprised if india maintain its position for whole year.
Bradman99 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 India are the best in the world for the time being, certainly not by miles, but they are the best, so well done. Whilst at times rankings can be misleading, I think in this case it is right. If you can keep it up for a year that would be a great achievement and I think you will.
rabinjackman Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 As far as i know tis going to be tough to maintain the No 1 ranking Aussies are set to play 9 test before the next world cup 2 vs PAK 2 vs NZ 5 vs ENG India play 0 unless BCCI schedule tests... AUssies will take over No. 1 spot pretty soon

AUssies will take over No. 1 spot pretty soon You don't get many points in the ICC rankings for beating low rated teams like Pak and NZ. So even if the Aussies win all four Tests, they won't get many points. England is their chance of getting some major points. India is scheduled to play Lanka, New Zealand and South Africa before the World Cup too. Maybe Australia too though the Aussies are unlikely to convert their seven game ODI series into two Tests and three ODIs as the BCCI wants. But definitely a lot more than 0 Tests.
Serani Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Please tell me India isnt playing Lanka again,BCCI really know how to make tests boring.
Karan114 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Please tell me India isnt playing Lanka again' date='BCCI really know how to make tests boring.[/quote'] To be fair the Tests give us an opportunity to win in Lanka because we haven't done so since 1993. It is the countless ODIs between India and Lanka which are so mind numbingly boring
pappu_kanghi Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Please tell me India isnt playing Lanka again' date='BCCI really know how to make tests boring.[/quote'] Yes we are going to play 3 test series in july in Sri Lanka. :wall:
