ZodiaC Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Why can't you compare? There will always be differences in playing conditions, pitches, quality of opposition, etc between players of different generations, so you bring that into the equation when comparing. If you go with your approach, you can't even compare players from 90s with current players. Only peers can be compared then. Exactly. This reason is used by all the bradman bhakths to cop out. :giggle: Why can't you just consider the above mentioned factors and compare? Only thing in bradman's favor is helmets and bodyline (for 1 series).
Gunner_Mania Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 You call me a Lunatic' date=' Biased or whatever your wish. For me Sachin is the greatest of all time, as he had played much more than what Don did and in every conditions, Not once, twice, But thrice and sometimes 4 times. So even after so much of a test, if this man after 21 years manages to be the best in the world. No wonder he is the greatest.[/quote'] BIASED LOONEY :hehe: There I called you. Happy?
IT_Anxiety_NJIT Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Bradman Greatest Cricketer ever of the last era. SACHIN GREATEST CRICKETER OF THIS ERA Greatest cricketer??? Certainly a candidate for greatest batsman of this era but not cricketer. That has to be Imran Khan.
Andy Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 BIASED LOONEY :hehe: There I called you. Happy? :finger::finger::finger:
Kumar Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Greatest cricketer??? Certainly a candidate for greatest batsman of this era but not cricketer. That has to be Imran Khan. I would argue sobers greater than imran khan, yes i will admit imran was the better captain, but sobers himself could have got into the side with his batting or bowling, he could bowl all variations and was a tremendous slip fielder so bear that in mind plus the first person to score 6 sixes and for a while had the top score in tests, justifys his significance as a cricketer over khan. Sobers to Khan is like Bradman to Tendulkar, .... in response I would still say bradman being the greatest cricketer!
vvvslaxman Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Greatest cricketer??? Certainly a candidate for greatest batsman of this era but not cricketer. That has to be Imran Khan. Imran was a ball tamperer. Kapil without tampering took 80 odd wickets in 22 tests against windies during their golden era. Highest by any bowler
Shakthi Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Greatest cricketer??? Certainly a candidate for greatest batsman of this era but not cricketer. That has to be Imran Khan. Imran khan yea right the king of ball tamperer he is not even good enough to clean,s sachin shoes 21 years of cricket many set backs but still the no.1 cricketer of any era even bradman included sachin he didnt include imran no other player gets the admiration lik sachin does.49 test centuries 46 odi centuries highest run getter in tests and odis highest individual scorer in odis only thing imran eva won was world cup( that was team effort too ) which was won by fluke as eng were batting under the lights.
vvvslaxman Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Sachin or Lara,Sachin wins in my opinion, day in day out against pace or spin awesome against both ! He conducts himself on & off field class 6:18 AM Oct 11th via Twitter for iPhone - Warney on twitter http://twitter.com/warne888

Shakthi Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 :cantstop: at your insecurity U r country can never produce a player like Tendulkar u can be as much jealous as u can truth is SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR IS GREATEST CRICKETER OF ALL TIME and will be in foreseeable future. 21 YEARS of cricket still leading batsman
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Come on who cares what the racist/jealous ex aussie rejects think, they say this as otherwise they would have to admit Tendulkar is the best which he is. No one cares about Bradman, Tendulkar is and would have been better in his era. Those who voted Bradman should be ashamed with themselves.

goose Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I hope everyone in this thread understands that the Tendulkar v. Bradman debate was raging in 2001/02. See this poll on the BBC. Who's the greatest? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/specials/west_indies_v_india/1939865.stm I appreciate it's just a poll, but still, have a surf around some of the links and comments on the right. Nothing in the last ten years really alters that debate in my mind. Yes, Tendulkar has re-invented himself somewhat and maintained a hunger that is jaw-dropping. In terms of pure batsmanship, however, this is all icing, the cherry on top. One must remember (if you were lucky and young enough to be following) how good the cake tasted. The time to judge has come and gone. Today we celebrate. What Tendulkar was doing at the crease a decade ago was so unbelievably magical that nothing he ever did afterwards could ever dilute or detract from that magic. That is why he is the greatest.

Only thing in bradman's favor is helmets and bodyline (for 1 series). Why can't you compare? Hmm well have any of us actually seen Bradman bat? There is a starter. I'm pretty sure the reasons have all been covered and if you can't tell the difference between comparing now to that of 20 years compared to now and over 50 years ago then I think ya got issues.
