flamy Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 hope he takes the rest and comes back fresh for the t20 wc
Zap_Brannigan Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 How did Raina become captain :hmmm: Wondering that too, Badri and Hayden seems to be more qualified but Raina is the highest run getter for CSK. Either way, we will see the return of Parthiv Patel

Badri doesn't suit this format, whereas Raina is a hard hitting batsman and a regular in India's team in both odis and t20's...same cant be said about Badri. However, Haydo is def mroe qualified and should have been named the captain. Maybe, he didn't want it.

You need such players as well to forge a partnership, play singles and keep the runs ticking in But I agree Raina being the captain is the best choice Haydos i am sure would have been offered
Roshanrocks Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 dhoni out = chennai in trouble... they wud have to find a wkt keeper bat or else changes in their squad will follow
HowardRoark Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 dhoni out = chennai in trouble... they wud have to find a wkt keeper bat or else changes in their squad will follow Parthiv Patel is already in the squad. Yes, Dhoni can win a couple of matches for Chennai. But it doesn't mean it's all doom for Chennai without him. It's not like Dhoni contributes in every match. He gets out a lot of times at the end of his consolidation period itself, which means wasting a lot of balls. We will be just fine. Haydos and Raina will step up.

It doesnt matter whether Raina is the better batsman here. If that was the case then Dhoni wouldnt have been made captain in the Indian side.

Badri is not the best batsman in the team by any means, but he has proven to be a good leader for Tamilnadu and when he is a certainity in the team, it makes sense to make him the captain in the absence of MSD.
iplseason3news Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 RE: yes that is bad news for CSK. They need more hard work to win next IPL match.........:two_thumbs_up:
Gunner_Mania Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I hope he gives the IPL a complete miss. Couldn't care less if :csk: win the IPL , but Captain Fantastic is not available for the T20 WC.
The Dark Horse Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 No issues in captaincy, Badri does not captain the TN side these days. Happy that Raina is the captain.
