Well cricinfo also called Yousuf a class batsman despite his average outside Pakistan is 42 in test.
There comes the jealousy-factor again. Every sensible person who knows the game of cricket will call Yousuf a class batsman, an elegant player. Even tind-ulkar can dream of 9 test centuries in a year!:yay: Yousuf averaged 66.65 betwen 2001 and 2006. No other cricketer with more than 3000 runs can match this. And you are doubting his class!

Youhana was a flat track bully at best.Period. Now Samarweera of SL is another one of his class. Check his record. Yes jealousy of not winning a test-series or ODI series in years:haha:

- He has fans everywhere in world, if there is Cricket's answer to David Beckham, it is Afridi!
you forgot a vital word - 'among pakistanis' . I've yet to see any non-pakistani origin British, Aussie, Saffer etc who are 'fans' of Afridi. **And If you meant in the twenty20 format*** He's a great player to have in twenty20..true..but twenty20 has been around for only 4-5 years in the mainstream - noone can be called legends as of yet in that format (plenty of other great performers too). Another 5 years and we shall see...

:haha::haha::haha: Please don't insult David Beckham
. Go to every corner in world and ask any kid about Maradona, Messi and he will tell you about them. Come to Norway and ask a norwegian about Sachin. Sachin who will they answer. !
And the same Norwegians would know Beckham but wouldn't know how to spell Afridi:finger:

Afridi --a scummy, retarded, grossly overrated, cheating, unscrupulous individual. Not difficult to see why he is popular with the Pakis, he embodies all the national qualities one normally associates with their nation. P.S:- Ahh, didn't the shyte also have a terrorist relative, how typical for every Paki to have a terrorist connection;)

Afridi cemented his place in pakisani set up with the way he plays, and he did actually did alot and won us some important maches i now it wasnt enouh to have those records he has in terms of matches he has played. but there are other things as wll, which makes afridi unique, which is his name Shahid AFRIDI and offcourse the six thing, for example beckam hasnt done alot for england or any of his club except some awesome goals but he became a famous name, beckham, you have beckham everywhere now, even the underwear you wear has beckham on it. the only time a pakistani hate afridi is when he gets out in tough situation but after few houre or a day we only look at the better side of afridi which he shows us every now and then! i know it will sound weird to you but am afraid this i the fact behind afridis long survival, which might have ended in the first year of him playing international cricket, but aftr all he is unique and different any other cricket processes but afterall its not a cricketing legend on stats but a 100% legend for us pakistani, and you people could give him 1% of your respect as well. no need to bring the legend of legends into this discussion(Tendulkar)

Are you so devoid of talent you openly proclaim a low life serial cheat as a 'Legend' ?

Legends were people like Wasim Akram from the past decade and Imran Khan before. Inzi was a legend and so was Saqlain Mushtaq. Afridi is not. Sorry. He hasn't achieved much as compared to others.

Though I am not overall a big fan of Afridi and also I cant say him a legend but I really admire his bowling sense in recent times. Just a question, I remember in 2004/05 Pak visited India for 3 Test matches, Afridi played 2 of them, out of 4 inngs he got Sachin's wicket in 3 times consecutively... How you guys rate this performance? Can any part timer/ordinary bowler stand up and take Sachin's wicket 3 times consecutively?

Tendulkar has dismissed Inzamam 6 times Lara 3 times :winky: This guy just keeps trying to copy Kumble style bowling. Any time he gets hit around he flat out chucks the ball :hysterical: . Yuvraj, Viru, Tendulkar are all specialists bowlers if this guy is a bowler.

He is a living legend! -He has the fastest century in ODI. The only guy who can beat this record is none other than himself. -He has also a 45-ball century where he smashed the rubbish Indian bowlers all over the park. - He was named man of the the first World T20. - He was Pakistan's leading player in the last World T20 where we won. - He is Boom boom Afridi - He is one of the best spinners in world at the moment. - He has the second most sixes in ODIs - He has fans everywhere in world, if there is Cricket's answer to David Beckham, it is Afridi! ++++++ what more do you want?
Batting avg of 23 and bowling avg of 34 in ODIS batting avg of 37 and bowling avg of 34 in test what stats for a legend.......he is just an above avg player in the team of avg.

as a neutral observer i wouldn't call him a legend. but definitely famous and someone who has had a major influence on the game in the last decade or so. whether it be for good reasons or bad. him and akthar both. both were raw talents picked up from the streets and have world records which will probably be safe for decades (fastest century and fastest delivery). you simply can't ignore the two. Whether or not you like them or not they gave cricket much to talk about and added fizz to the dull boring game it was. characters like these rarely come about and we should cherish them while they play.

To be a legend, one has to perform consistantly over a long period of time, one or two fluke performance does not make one a legend. charles Coventry equalled Anwar's record. Is he a legend? Lasith Malinga took 4 wickets in 4 balls, something no bowler has ever done nor is likely to do soon. Is Malinga a legend? Do Sri-Lankans treat him as a legend?
- He was named man of the the first World T20. - He was Pakistan's leading player in the last World T20 where we won.
Its only T20 for God's sake. Rohit Sharma scored the most runs for the T20 wprld cup we won. Irfan Pathan was the man of the match in the finals. So both must be legends too!!
He is Boom boom Afridi - He is one of the best spinners in world at the moment. - He has the second most sixes in ODIs - He has fans everywhere in world, if there is Cricket's answer to David Beckham, it is Afridi!
I have only seen Pakistani fans all around the world cheering for him. Be it England or South Africa, i have only seen pakistani fans going crazy over him. You want to know what true fan following is? Michael Schumaker, the richest sportsman is a Sachin fan(they are both fans of each other). Daniel Radcliffe(Harry Potter Star) stood in the hot sun in a queue for Sachin's autograph and Sachin didnt even recognise him. Thats stardom, not a couple of teenage fans jumping around for Afridi. Sachin is the first cricketer to be on Time magazine's cover. Thats stardom. Usain Bolt said he is a Sachin fan. None of the reasons you gave makes any player a legend and there are players a dime a dozen who have achieved the same and more. The only reason for Afridi's popularity is ebcause Pakistan has absolutely no stars after Wasim and waqar retired. Yousuf and Younis are not star materials and Akhtar, who would have been equally popular is out now. That only leaves Afridi for a cricket crazy nation. Andho mai Kana Raza

i would rather have character like Younis Khan , Rahul Dravid etc in cricket. Afridi and Akthars are like the cheap jokes, the overmade up vamps, the Shakti Kapoors in a B grade movie who provide entertainment to the richshaw pullers whistling the front row of the cinema halls. They provide cheap one minute thrills. I woulod rather watch something more classy and subtle As for the fatsets delivery and fastest century, there have been scores of cricketers who have fluked one or two records. Malinga has taken 4 wickets in four balls. is he a legend? coventry equalled anwar's record before Sachin did. is he a legend? How exaclty has Afridi influenced cricket in Pakistan let alone overall?
