Zelig Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 At last, I watched 'The Illusionist' yesterday. I liked it!
cowboysfan Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 finished watching (500) days of Summer.11/10. great acting by Levitt and deshanel.a refreshing change from usual Hollywood fare who nobody is going to bother with.
graphic23 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Watched a telugu film tonight. Arundathi - a horror/thriller type movie. I liked it. No distractions from the main plot. The tone of the film is kept constant, and its kinda nice. A few loop holes but I guess this was a first try in this genre that kinda succeeded, and I'd encourage my fellow Telugu members here to watch it. Its not great, but its different.
Anonymous Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 watched Goodbye bafana... based on the true story of the interactions between Nelson mandela and his interactions with his white prison warder..
Riley's Girl Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 watched Goodbye bafana... based on the true story of the interactions between Nelson mandela and his interactions with his white prison warder.. Would u recommend I watch it?
Anonymous Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Would u recommend I watch it? Absolutely...There is a subtle message in it for everyone. for example the apartheid govt bans the ANC's freedom charter and many whites are made to believe that it contains communist idealogy and policies aimed at exterminating all whites while on the contrary all it says is that all are equal and have equal rights... BTW..Marilize what are your views on the present ANC govt. Mandela as far as I know had a policy of reaching out to the whites..famously presented the rugby world cup to Francois Pienaar wearing a springboks jersey....
Riley's Girl Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Will check it out. As for the govt, Zuma has only been in office since April so we'll have to wait and see. He is more popular with the people than Mbeki was. Zuma himself has reached out. I think the best example here is that he appointed the leader of one of the white minority parties as the deputy minister of agriculture. The scorpions, a special police unit responsible for investigating corruption, etc that was closed down under Mbeki has been reinstated under Zuma. I think we're moving forward.
