Number Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Ek Villain. Its supposed to be a thriller but hardly is. Very predictable story and too much cliches like 80-90s movies. Performances are good. 2.5/5.

Shraddha was good, Sid acted brilliantly I feel he was the standout in the film. Ritesh did a role very different from what he has been doing with his *****y slapstick comedy. All in all it was an average film with no pace, no suspense. My rating - 4/10 and an extra point for music that makes it 5/10. For those who see it as a thriller, please don't go you all will be disappointed as you can see the end right from the start of the second half.

maniac Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Saw Ek Villiain last night Summary 1)The hero-:banghead: cannot act to save his life,0 emotions,seriously,we are supposed to take this choclate boy as a ruthless gangster....I mean he was so bad that cannot even feel sympathy for him...whose son is he BTW? 2)Shraddha Kapoor-meh Why is she rated so highly here on icf? (ZAKK,Velu ),She can't act,no dialogue delivery,looks cute that's it,Good enough to play hero's sister but heroine seriously??? No acting range but she grows on you towards the end of the movie though,might be an illusion because the loser hero is so frickin bad,it makes her look like meryl streep in comparison 3)Riteish Deshmukh is a good actor :nice: but his character development is pretty bad,also cannot take him seriously if he acts in crappy movies half the time,but still decent job 4)Direction and Story-If anyone has seen the Korean movie I saw the Devil ,which this is a rip off,you will feel ashamed of watching this parody....Also shame on bollywood,can't these guys come with an original story to save their life......The producers of the original should not just sue them for plagarising but for pissing on all over what was a fantastic thriller.....Now I have seen some Bollywood ripoffs,some of them were well made despite Indianizing in full effect. 5)Last but not the least Music :two_thumbs_up: only redeeming quality if any in this movie

But since there was a love story in between, he had to be emotional at times. But I think he did his role pretty well and it suited him. Ritesh Deshmukh was fine as well, and as you pointed out, most people didn't take him seriously due to his reputation of a slapstick and RomCom hero. Shraddha was alright, she got the kind of role that suited her personality, bubbly cute girl so she didn't had to do much. But I think you are being a bit too harsh on Sid, he is a fine actor.

Few lines, but chilly ones. No one makes it as dark as Kubrick does. Even managed to send chills down our spine with just an AI voice. (Space Odyssey)

Indian English movie channels run their own censoring before airing the movie. Parts of the movie simply disappear even if that makes the story difficult to understand. 2. Big commercial breaks. 3. Can'r pause and resume at convenience. 4. Hindi movies run for 4 to five hours with huge commercial breaks. Sometimes one commercial break might run for 30 minutes.

maniac Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Saw Transformers 4 Marky Mark>Shia labeouf I had a free ticket that I was saving for Transformers but realised it was not applicable to Imax-So ended up watching EK Villian :banghead: Michael "boom" "crash" "CGI" Bay Anyways mixed feelings....not too much bumblebee(My fav transformer) in this one,mostly Optimus Prime but still worth a watch...Watching this in Imax 3d enhanced this,wath it there otherwise not worth it.... one of those movies that is perfect for TV viewing
