Not having a fourth wall and including the audience to be a part of your scene is just almost impossible. I get nervous thinking what my reaction would/should be if I meet eye to eye with someone. May be with experience you can, but its still seems very far-fetched. Perfectly said. Although I rate DDL as THE best actor out there, I'll always opt to watch Al Pacino over him or anyone. The characters are so intense and its something to watch. Every character might have the same recipe but a different spark to it. He was magnificent in GodFather. That monologue where he plans the killing of Sollozzo and the Captain is chilling.I never thought anybody could bring that understated menace to the screen when I read the book,but he did that even better. That kind of chill was only upped by Bardeim in "No Country.."

In the link its been written that they were finally convinced with Al Pacino as Micheal after the Sollozo scene. Puzo actually said that it couldn't have been portrayed any better. It was, in my eyes, a perfect performance, a work of art. I was so happy . . . I ate crow like it was my favorite Chinese food. I don't know but for some reason the Godfather 2 performance just blew me away despite a very emotionless and subtle character. There was so much going on within him- the family falling apart, mother's death, issue with Kaye. And he showed it all without many emotions, you could just feel that impact. How in the flying f**k did did he do that? Topped Brando and DeNiro, IMO.

Plenty of personal favorites. Hell! Al Pacino doesn't even top my best actor list. Someone I like to follow and watch the most.
