i hate with when my predictions are right(not really).i knew this was always going to happen with Vijay.he should never have been picked for t20s (or odis for that matter)we are well on our way to ruining a perfectly good test prospect who could have concentrated on test cricket and worked on his short comings.

the problem is these are not even the True fast and bouncy pitches .... pitches in WI are not what they used to be.

They look pretty fast and bouncy to me, Barbados is the only venue where the pitch has remained a quick one.

there is marked difference between trying to score at a breakneck speed with hostile balling and negotiating it in tests. to be candid this is probably the first time i am seeing vijay outside india in fast conditions and so far not so good but test matches are a totally different ball game.

Mostly he gets forward and gets into awkward position. It is a technical problem not fear factor as you imply. He has to do a major overhaul to pick the right short ball to go after. Other than that he is okay.

I guess he gets out Pulling or Hooking the wrong deliveries that are fast and are going away from the body outside offstump. Otherwise i have seen him pulling balls for 6 at times. I think he needs to select the right shot against the right ball.

Vijay is a test player. One innings on the flattest track in the world doesn't make him a great t20 player. Selector morons should've gone for tried and proven Uthappa than this guy for this World Cup. That said It's equally moronic to judge a player based on his t20 appearances. It's ridiculous to say Vijay can't play pace just because he got out cheaply in two innings, both in pursuit of quick runs.

For the utter pessimists, he has a 93 in the only first class match he's played out of the subcontinent, in New Zealand. He turned out for Central Districts against Wellington.
