Nova Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 LOL damn I'm slow. Although such headline news should be in the main cricket forum not some chit chat forum! It is the headline news in the chit chat section... ...
vvvslaxman Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Yet to win a world cup after Kapil though. Never replaced that match winner completely I guess. Not even in more than 25 years. We won T20 cup :winky: Reached 2003 world cup final. Match winners come in different shape and sizes. :winky:
Sooda Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Its the bowling that a darn slight mooaar worrying... wither the remotely decent pacers Minus Zaheer our pace attack is a seriously out of form Ishant, a blow hot and cold Sree and ...who?? Tyagi we dont know whether is good enough, but has made the last few squads...Guys like Vinay Kumar, Mithun..test class?
f2000560 Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Yet to win a world cup after Kapil though. Never replaced that match winner completely I guess. Not even in more than 25 years. Kapil is probably the biggest reason we don't have a decent bowler or allrounder for the last 20 years every one who is touted as the next kapil dev goes on to fail. maybe we should put lesser expectations so they can become just that. as far as the thread question is concerned i am still living in denial. i still feel its 2 years away. dravid vvs and sachin are fit playing superbly in tests of late and i am sure they are in no mood to retire just yet
riya Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 We need to introduce new faces slowly and steadily into the test cricket arena.Whats the msot worrying part is the fitness level of some players.
rkt.india Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Fast bowling strength is concerning for Indian team...every team is producing genuine pacers now...bt we even dnt have a decent medium pacer except ZAK...BCCI need to work on that...they need to find potential pacers from U16 level and nourish them and create fast bowlers...like England is doing...they are creating fast bowlers in their academies....in 90s England cupboard was also bare in fast bowling dept., but they improved now
Tridibans_16 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 We were never really a team of fast bowlers, Heck evan Sreenath was faster as compared to the current lot. It has just been like that for India. I guess it is more to do with the upbringing of the young talents, we seem to produce a never ending list of left armers or right arm medium pacers!:hitler:
