Great going Suresh. Virat has better experience of leading the national team internationally, but I respect Cheeka's decision. And I agree with Zooby Dooby... why do we continue ignore Manish, Robbie, Shikhar? Cheeka needs to sort his head out. Another player who everyone seems to have missed in their assessment is - S. Badrinath. And R.Ashwin is a surprise selection. Why do we need so many spinners is quite beyond me. They could've picked RP or Sreesanth and give them a chance to bounce back and lead a depleted pace attack. But the indication to them seems clear. Very very happy for Pankaj Singh. I hope he's got his action sorted out. :two_thumbs_up: Naman might hardly get a game, lest the pitches don't allow us to play 3-4 spinners and batting needs to be deep. Nohit has redeemed himself with one good innings it seems, so its unfair to consistent performers like Robbie, Manish and Cheteshwar. But I'm sure the selectors are only going to see some fightback from the people they've ignored. Decent selections. Best of luck, India. :two_thumbs_up: PS- Seems like people have slowly started disliking Cheeka. I told you guys a long time back, the guy is having a terrible time with aptitude application.

^Badri is off the radar, no way of selecting him- thanks to his test debut. Selection is good-except that i would have wanted Uthappa instead of Yusuf/Ojha and may be Mithun instead of Pankaj Singh.

People unhappy with couple of selections is one thing - In this case Uthappa/Mithun/Pujara should have been here. But spewing hatred by calling selections biased on regions and IPL franchisees is defintely a dangerous path to go.

Pankaj SIngh he does not go over 130 WTF no Sudeep Tyagi and MIhtun' date=' No RObin Utthappa shyt selection again[/quote'] He's unbelievably accurate. Bump this thread when he plays :two_thumbs_up:

Thats friggin unfair to Badri. But I think he's got his share of chances. Mithun was quite ridiculous against the Saffers. But Ashwin seems to be a bigger surprise to me. They could've picked a batter/bowler over him.

Yes. I know. I haven't mentioned IPL, CSK and Cheeka's bias anywhere in this thread. And well, who could've thought I'd stand up for Badri. How dare I, right? :giggle:

Well this is interesting. Is this the first time in Indian cricket history that all senior players have been rested? No problems for me...good time to test the bench strength.

Cheeka favoring M Vijay over Uthappa once again. He has gone with his state team player. Hodiyo Hodiyo Uthappa!
As the number of overs go upwards MV >>>> RU, who is good only for T20. Any more Karnataka people missed the team you think? Maybe Vijay Bharadwaj, Dodda Ganesh, etc. who got the chances undeservedly and exposed royally under Vishwanath's regime?

:P I have always liked him and a few players esp. Ambati Rayudu, Sreesanth, Balaji, Murali Karthik from South. I was infact even having a conv about Badri in another thread yesterday. I am the SAVIOUR OF THE SOUTH ZONE :yay:. And to be honest, I hate bias in any form. I hated it when Bombay got all their players to play while deserving players from South sat out. So its just karma coming back through Cheeka, but I guess the good player has fate on his side. And thats all that matters.

Refresh page and you guys' comments on my extended post are always welcome  @ DH... His days in intl. cricket might be over, but I'm sure he'll be back in the news slamming the selectors who will then promptly select him again and he'll score a 100 off 84 balls to prove his point :yay:

they should have gotten uthappa in there but the message is clear that all new faces mostly so they have ignored even the old pacers, sreesanth, RP Munaf the works. and to be fair Uthappa bar the IPL didn't set the domestic scene ablaze. Pandey should have been there so should mithun. As far as Badri is concerned i don't think he has got enough chances 2 tests and you discard him ? look at his first class record man. But yeah i think he should be developed into the next vvs for the test squad and not for ODI's imho so good that he is missing.

Rayudu i won't jump the gun yet. He has been in the wilderness for far too long and come back and done well in the IPL. He needs to prove in first class too. Pandey should always be in the reckoning. He has loads of talent. A good counterattacking middle order batsman.

Badri's days in intl cricket are over man' date=' forget it:giggle:[/quote'] i wouldn't say that he is too deserving not to get a chance and now that slots in the middle order specially in tests are open he should be first choice.

Too many bowlers in that squad. Why Yusuf and Jadeja both in the team when the series is in Zim? Irfan's name should have been there, and then how can cheeka ignore Pandey and Robin? If Ojha is here because of his IPL performance, then Robin deserved to be there ahead of him. But in any case, its a young team, hope they do well.
