Only 4 matches won by team chasing

Out of twenty played. Out of which one was against a minnow(India vs Afghanistan) and one was because of Duckworth Lewis(WI against England) Yet we keep on chosing to bowl after winning the toss and end up getting owned!

Dhoni and his f***ing plans! We beat SA while batting first even though we were 4o odd after 8 overs in that match. We are good at batting first and that's the way it is. Why field after winning the toss?

Interesting stat, but like I said on the other thread: Aus beat all the four test playing teams from the sub-continent in this tourney till date by batting first. Would BD beaten Aus, if it had batted first? If the answer to that question is 'no' and/or 'may be', we can probably say that this piece of stats is interesting but it doesn't guarantee the result. The bottom line: You have to judge the conditions and also do what suits your team more. And ofc, you have to play well too on the day.

It's plain stupid to ask your not so well equipped batsmen to face chin music by fielding first. India's plan in WC07 was simple, bat first and things will take care of itself thereon. Stick to that god damn it

Hindsight!! Had we batted first with a 9.30 am start, there is every chance of us folding up for under 100 on those fresher wickets. And then we would have seen threads like why bat first on a fresh pitch. On the reason why we preferred to chase, simple logic batsmen were scared of pacers.

folding up under 100? even with collapse, we could have manage 130-140, still a good total. Btw its not only us, every other team has found it hard to chase. Ask SA

I don't understand why you would bat 2nd if you win the toss. Batting first in 20/20's are the way to go, get a good score on the board and it makes it very hard on the other side.

If we had batted first, batsmen wouldnt have been under the pressure of a target, hence, they would have been aqble to leave some balls instead of playing stupid shots and getting out. In all the matches we sucked ass, we didnt get out because of mositure or movement in the pitch. We were pwned only by bounce and pace and nothing else
