punjabi_khota Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Nothing can match WC-99. WC-03 comes close but they were not really playing all that great IIRC...
Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 the best one for me is 99 semi finals choke... then the titan cup.. they won 6 out of 6 league matches and went on to lose the finals to india 96 quarter finals loss to windies.. here again they won all their league matches and failed at the first knock out match...
gs Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 WC '99 - Alan Donald choke when Lance Klusener was belting Fleming to all parts of the ground.
cowboysfan Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 the mega choke ofcourse, that one was epic in all of sports.
DomainK Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Who can forget 99? Nothing comes close to that. Ultimate choke in cricket history.
Guest Hiten. Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Champions trophy 2002: Semi finals vs India Only they could've have lost the game when they were 190 odd for 1 in 38 overs chasing 260-ish :giggle:.

Was that the game where Kallis took about 140 balls to score 97 runs? And didn't he remain not out as well? :hysterical:

Guest Hiten. Funny anecdote prior to this game. Me and my friends were pretty nervous ahead of this clash, so just to calm our anxiety down, we decided to look up the batting average of batsmen from both the teams. At that time all our batsmen's combined average equaled almost 250-260ish and RSA's batsmen's average fell short of 10-20; surprisingly which is what RSA lost by :cantstop:
graphic23 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 The man has featured in most of those chokes .... and is often the main culprit :P If it has to qualify as a choke by a batsman, that batsman's name better be "Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar".
f2000560 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 poor SA wish they win one major icc tourney in my lifetime.
vvvslaxman Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 poor SA wish they win one major icc tourney in my lifetime. Mental midgets they are. They have no clue about how to raise the level in big games. Pretty much all teams bar England and SA have raised their game in big games and gone on to win something worthwhile.
punjabi_khota Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 BD will win some ICC thing before saffers do...:phehehe:
littlemaster1982 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 SA won the inaugural Champions Trophy in 1998. The only ICC tournament they had won.
