nballa Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 yuvraj and rohit are out of shape? our fielding needs improvement? our cricketers are not fit enough? these are the 'darkest secrets'?? not unless TV was never invented and people are following all matches on radio.
King Tendulkar Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 wow. all its takes is a defeat in a lowly tournament to forget the number 1 ranking in tests and drop to the level of the fish eaters from across the border. The pak has a point!
Temujin Khaghan Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 How about getting them fit before a tournament instead of *****ing about it after a failure? exactly. it will be nice if from now on players are criticized if they have a fault in them no matter even if they have just won the world cup and not criticizing them just for the heck of it everytime they lose.

Would anyone listen to then? The answer would be "Well we are doing great aren't we? So please sod off" Australia is carrying a liability like Micheal Clarke but noone complains because they are winning.

Mr. Wicket Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Since when was it a secret that Porky and certain others were fat and unmotivated?
asterix Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Since when was it a secret that Porky and certain others were fat and unmotivated? This is mainly because Indian cricket establishment including selectors and ofcourse the team captain basically thinks that majority of Indian cricket loving public are stupid and know nothing about cricket...
Texy Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 we need a brand new team for t20.....all young and new players committed to the country...IPL has definitely corrupted some of the under 19, under 22 players in thinking money comes before commitment towards their country. yuvi, nehra, yusuf, jadeja...needs to be dropped immediately
Andy Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 "Half-fit players would not be picked" Players who are not fully fit at the time of team selection will not be considered for future tournaments, according to BCCI sources. "Earlier, half-fit players were picked in the hope that they would recover fully by the time the tournament starts but the Board has learnt from its experience in the last two Twenty20 World Cups and from now onwards, only fully fit players would be considered for selection," a top board source said. Lack of fitness is being cited as one of the major reasons behind India's dismal show in the recent Twenty20 World Cup where they could not win a single Super Eight stage match. Coach Gary Kirsten was aghast with the poor fitness level of the team and he is learnt to have identified Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Rohit Sharma unfit for cricket at any level. Kirsten said at 42, he himself was fitter than some of the players and felt eight cricketers were grossly overweight. Kirsten held a one-on-one meeting with seven senior players before they left the West Indies, asking them to do some soul-searching and utilise the break before next month's Asia Cup. The BCCI is now under pressure to crack down on unfit players in the wake of the team's disastrous performance in the just-concluded Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies. The matter is being viewed seriously as the team had also fared very poorly in the previous World Cup in England where it also failed to reach the semifinals. A second string team will feature in India's next cricket engagement in Zimbabwe where they will play a tri-series and two Twenty20 matches against the hosts. But the mood of the selectors will be known when they sit down to select the squad for the Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka from June 15-24 and it remains to be seen whether some senior players who have not performed upto expectations are axed. Team manager Ranjib Biswal's report to BCCI is also learnt to have focused on players' lack of fitness and the need for the batsmen to get acclimatise to the conditions and the bouncy pitches when they tour overseas. http://www.espnstar.com/cricket/international-cricket/news/detail/item441808/%22Half-fit-players-would-not-be-picked%22/
Andy Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 'BCCI looking into World T20 debacle' Team manager Ranjib Biswal's report on India's disastrous ICC World T20 campaign in the West Indies is being examined by the BCCI, according to Rajiv Shukla. The Board spokesman said appropriate action will be taken on its basis. Shukla said BCCI President Shashank Manohar and other officials were looking into the report and will take a decision based on the findings. "Indian team manager Ranjib Biswal has submitted his report on the ICC World Twenty20 to Mr Manohar and the Board is looking into it and will take the appropriate decision," Shukla said. "Biswal has already met the Board president and apprised him of all the happenings," he added. Biswal had made some recommendations in his report on the trip, which ended in humiliation for inaugural champions India when they were knocked out of the showpiece event after failing to win even a single Super Eights stage match. "I have submitted the report to the BCCI about the World T20. The BCCI is looking at the report and they will get back to you. There are certain issues which I have recommended to the BCCI and I hope the Board knows how to react to that and I hope, the Board reacts to that," Biswal had said at the time of submitting the report. The report highlights various technical flaws of the batsmen and poor fielding standard of the team, besides touching upon fitness and disciplinary issues. http://www.espnstar.com/cricket/icc-world-t20/news/detail/item441801/'BCCI-looking-into-World-T20-debacle'/
asterix Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Why they are targetting Rohit Sharma? Rohit was already a "Gadraaya Hua Maal"..I thought he was selected just because he has this Posh Boy physique..and do well in the harems of senior players like Dhoni, UV etc.. Leave Rohit alone..He was not even sure that he will be selected.. Eik to select karte hain aur phir mota bol ke nikal dete hain..Very bad..

nballa Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I don't get how these reports are going to help in any way. its not like they can do anything about it. its not like the upcoming crop of cricketers are any better. sure they picked murali vijay and jadeja who are probably among the fitter ones. but look where that landed us. the point if fitness and fielding is not as important as batting technique. sure you can run a couple of two's or three's and save 10 runs on the field but that doesn't help if you give away 6 consecutive sixes or average 10.66 for the tournament as a batsman.
dial_100 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Why are we sweating over tonti-tonti???? Give them a break. RS was never part of ODI and other than Yuvi no other serious issue right now. Yes Zahir/IS/SS can be best of their fitness for WC 11. But please dont worry. We will be fine for ODIs. Concern should be Test because if our bowlers are not delivering then it will be impossible to beat anyone. WIth zahir thinning out because of burn-out, out of form, fitness then it is concern because we have already lost IS and SS. So lets talk about something else.. T0T is over.
