Gambhir's honeymoon over? Gambhir is he good batsman or was he just having a golden run on indian and subcontinent pitches and against a subpar NZ bowling attack. He was supposed to posses a sound technique but in last two t20 world cups teams have started bouncing him and he has not shown he is capable of handling it. He played well in first T-20 world but at that time this mantra of bouncing Indians out was prevalent. Not having Sehwag at the other end to take pressure of him has affected him??or will he end like all other Indian openers other than Sehwag who can at times look good on sub-continent pitches but are found out against even mediocre fast bowling on pitches which have some bounce.

I am not rating his test career on the t-20 failures.I am not saying he bad batsmen , even in Nagpur test recently when pitch was doing something he looked out of sorts. He was bounced out in odis in West Indies after last t-20 world cup too.other than NZ he has not played much test cricket overseas.

Dilshan and Gambhir are not comparable.Dilshan is just a dasher who honestly I think just ran into golden form and has dipped now.I dont know if he has any more of such run in him nor do i care about him. We all thought Gambhir was more of a complete batsmen who can adapt to all situations, he has done that till now.but are chinks showing up now?

Answer is no. This has been his game from the beginning. I don't see any difference between the Gambhir i see now and the Gambhir i saw 5 years back in terms of technique. Only difference is he is immensely disciplined these days. His 179 against England at Mohali was terrific display of temperament. He did have barrage of bouncers from Flintoff. You cannot be a successful opener with too many chinks. There is no place to hide for an opener. All openers are expected to be decent against pace regardless of who he is because that is what you will face when you walk out to the center.

If we are going to go by failure in 1 or 2 tests then every batsman has chink in armor. Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman had chink in their armours against Murali and Mendis during last Srilankan tour. Pretty much all Indian batsmen bar Ganguly had chink in their armor during last South African tour.

Mendis was solved by all those batsmen you mentioned on return series both in odis and tests in srilanka and over in India.

Gauti has done well in NZ where the ball was swinging/seaming constantly and add to that he's THE best opener in the world who can handle spin with ease. How can you compare him with a Dilshan who thrives on sub-continental conditions? :dontknow:

Gambhir should thank amits for his success in cricket :D amits met gambhir back in 2003 during a ranji match and told him to score a 100 in every match u play he is doing that now in test cricket and makes 100s in almost every test match he plays:D so gambhir should be thanking amits for his success in cricket:D
