zen Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 At the moment, I think our batting in tests is sufficient with Sehwag, GG, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman and Dhoni. I think there is more of a need to play an all-rounder who can bat at 6 or 7 than a specialist batsman. Despite having such a batting order, if we still need to play an extra bat over grooming an all-rounder, who can help out both with batting and bowling, then something is probably wrong with our selection process and thinking To groom some of these future batsmen, it's not a bad idea to field them first in ODIs and give them more responsibilities

ViruRulez Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I am not sure about ODIs but yes for the other two formats .. he would have to be included in ODI at the cost of Jadeja/YP and I dont think that is the right option unless he starts taking wickets in ODIs .. in tests he can play instead of UV as I find his technique better suited for tests than UV .. in T20 he can take anyone's place :P
