ZodiaC Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 S.Tiwary got his chance but what about Ambati Rayudu :idunno: Prolly coz Tiwari is a left hander + a big hitter.
Gunner_Mania Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Seriolusly what if Dhoni twists his ankle 10 mins before the match' date=' what do we do?[/quote'] My guess would be Kohli.
Gunner_Mania Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 S.Tiwary got his chance but what about Ambati Rayudu :idunno: Ambat Rayudu is the only one I can remember from the ICL, have any of the ICL guys got a sniff at playing for India?
gaurav92 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 ^Nope :headshake: But talent should not be parted with :nervous: That is bad for India
ZodiaC Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 What and you want crapthan batting at 7?? Pathans batting is vastly over rated' date=' in the crappy batsman all rounder role , Jadeja is better[/quote'] How exactly is Jadeja better than pathan FFS? Even Dinesh Mongia played was a better 'allrounder' than Jaddu :haha:
King Tendulkar Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 How exactly is Jadeja better than pathan FFS? Even Dinesh Mongia played was a better 'allrounder' than Jaddu :haha: All our so called all rounders are awful. If they are awful why bother playing one? All jokes aside the best all rounder we probably have is yuvi! Why not play him as such?
asterix Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Jadeja is slow poison..He is killing us fans slowly..and steadily..
King Tendulkar Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Jadeja is slow poison..He is killing us fans slowly..and steadily.. Why dont we stop picking these awful odi so called specialist players ala Nehra, jadeja , Pathan etc. Just pick quality and class acts! No more rubbish
youngindia Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 You are using Ipl3 as a benchmark to select players for ODI ' date=' Uthappa is injured,.[/quote'] can you stop making a fool out of yourself? i look for what a player has to offer in his game. if he is an exceptional striker of the ball, logically he shud be able to dominate attacks by effortlessly finding the boundaries. that's how you go about things. you look for qualities(not necessarily fully developed at the moment) that will help certain players dominate international attacks.

Why not play him as such? I agree, Yuvi should've been picked. But Irfan is anyday a better choice than Jaddu and Yusuf, period. That's all I'm saying. FFS he has a decent batting avg and bowling average. Why are ya howling so much against him?

Yusuf Pathan, an exceptional striker of ball, no wonder logically he is dominating international attacks winning matches for India single handedly.
saneindian Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Jadeja is slow poison..He is killing us fans slowly..and steadily.. Unfortunatley the same slow posion is proving to be the best spinner in the side and a more than handy lower order batsman. It's not his fault that he is doing well with the ball and the bat. The season of t20s is over. Wake up.

He gets smoked by top class performers.

Oh, then maybe I have to learn from you on how to look. After all, you are the only one who is arguing about Kolhi. He has played reasonable knocks and again this is odis not t20s. Also, remainder RU is injured and AR cannot play for India yet so it is not like we have much much better options left
ZodiaC Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 His bowling is awful. Jadeja is much more reliable in this dept. I Pathans lollipops are awful. He gets smoked by top class performers. WEll that's applicable to almost every phaasht bowler of ours. Check out his bowling/batting averages vs Zak, Nehra or whoever vs Aus, England, NZ, Pak etc. He's pretty decent pick anyday. Jadeja is crap, even Raina can bowl as good or better than him. He's no better than a part time spinner.
The Outsider Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 vijay will be back sometime in the near future.don't worry. can you tell me now if kohli is playing any matchwinning knocks with authority? for that , you have to strike the ball a long way without crude slogs. you have to play a range of proper criketing shots.if kohli does that now, then call me. You don't score First Class hundreds against Lee, Johnson, Clark, and Siddle in 140 deliveries without having a range of proper cricketing shots. Your poster boy, Badrinath, the one of 'seasonings', was unable to get the ball off the square in the same match. You are complaining about Kohli's lack of range in the same post as hyping up Vijay! Can it get more ridiculous. Vijay was given a run of 8 matches in the last two months and showed nothing. He should still be in reckoning for tests, but if he does make a comeback in the 'near future' in limited overs, it certainly won't be on cricketing merit.
zen Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Squad: MS Dhoni (capt & wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Pragyan Ojha, Ashok Dinda, R Ashwin, Saurabh Tiwary. Let's break the squad down: Batsmen: Dhoni (also Wk), Sehwag, GG, Kohli, Raina, Rohit and Tiwary Pacers: PK, Zak, Nehra and Dinda Spinners: Bhajji, Ojha and Ashwin Bits and pieces: Jadeja Looking at the squad, it appears as if the selectors pick without thinking much abt the balance. Would have liked to see: 1. a pace bowling all-rounder in the squad. Esp considering that guys like Ojha, Ashwin and Bhajji are amongst our better ODI bowlers and we need to play at least two of them in the 11. Also it's good to play 3 seamers considering bowling options for 20 overs of PP and bowling at the death 2. a reserve WK. What if MS gets sick on the morning of the game. A quick fix replacement could cost us the game
