Pak_Forever Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 :WTF:why is he picked now.he was dropped from ODIs n picked in tests.clearly shows cheeka has no idea about selecting a team.this was excellent opportunity to blood Rohit in.hes looking in great touch.i hope Dhoni plays Raina over him.but its highly unlikely n wth is Buddhiman Baba doing in the team? Looks like bcci pulled a pcb here. We go through similar sort of feeling before each tour. :haha: When is Uttapa going to make it to the Test squad? Any chance of that happening soon?

Deleted_User_1 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 BCCI phaacking morons!!! UV needs to earn his spot and Saha. I am a Bengalee and I am thinking :WTF:
Aaku Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Saha is not even scoring runs against WI and Scotland 2nd sides I knowww !! :WTF:
ludhianvi Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I am happy to see Yuvi in the squad but I still think that he would've benefited by playing in the Asia Cup considering he's never played any Test matches in SL. On the other hand, the absence from the team should provide him with some motivation. I hope he makes this count. Btw, in the last series against SL in India , Yuvi averaged 52. He needs to convert the starts and start making centuries now. -yuvi fan
Mr. Wicket Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 How are you guys sure that Saha is a better keeper than Karthik? Recently he gave 26 byes against WI A. All of that might not be his fault only but it still points that he is not a top class keeper like Dhoni is. Because I've watched Saha in the past, and I've watched Karthik. I've seen how poorly Karthik has kept in tests, combined with the fact that he's not always been a regular keeper and has been played as a batsman/fielder, which isn't good for his keeping consistency. Saha may not be the better batsman, but on keeping alone he has better footwork behind the stumps and is more confident and reliable when the ball's swinging (given his practice to Dinda/Bose on green Bengal wickets). Though in honesty, I would really like to see Maninder Bisla get a try.
Mr. Wicket Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 You can say BCCI pulled a PCB when they select Uthappa in the test squad ... Exaggeration. For the BCCI to pull a PCB, they would have to find some retired/out of favour player with no real track record in test cricket to admire, call him back and immediately make him captain. Hopefully they will not make Ajay Jadeja test kaptaan soon. :winky:
Sooda Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Wicky, Bisla , really? I dont know a lot about Ranji cricket so dont know how good he is, I do remember he used to be an all rounder who bowled medium pace, and even played in the 02 U19 WC and did ok then. Was supposedly a promsing young player. DKK was actually the keeper in that WC. Is it HP he plays for now I think. Has he been keeping at the highest level long enough to be considered for Intls?
youngindia Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 atleast the test selection remains sane except one place. its the so called alrounders and too many underaged youngsters which has spoilt the ODI and t20 teams.
Lord Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 wat about C.Gautam guys? i was impressed with his glovework in Ranji n Duleep trophy games i watched last year.his batting is also good
saneindian Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 wat about C.Gautam guys? i was impressed with his glovework in Ranji n Duleep trophy games i watched last year.his batting is also good Too ealry for him. Let him play one more season. Has started well and by the looks of it could surpass everyone else to be in line for a reserve keeper's slot next year. One thing for sure is that our keepers in the post Dhoni days have realised that they need to be better batsmen than the likes of dahiya, ratra, dighe to get into the team.
Lord Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 some news channel is saying that Yuvi lost 12kgs in 12 days:omg:if itstrue, than its not that bad a selection

bihutoli Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 WTF Wridhiman Saha! You see a player and can say he's not international class! Kartik would have defo been a better choice, given he had some measure of the Srilankan bowlers and pitches in the Asia cup. Chikka pagla gaya hai!
