Heck tell me 3 movies that are watchable this year? So it is the 400th flop out of the 400 produced so far this year. For this junk ***** movie called 'Raavan'(as per the reivews -- I have not watched it yet and probably will not) -- Ash and Abhi travelled from London to Lahore to Lajpatnagar to Lucknow to Lanka to Lamdanagar -- wasting time, money, energy and what not. Only enhances and reinforces my "Sad and Sorry state of Indian Movies" thought. BTW Omkara was a GREAT movie, if somebody can tell me if Raavan is even half as good as Omkara, with conviction and a non-biased opinion -- I will watch it. You should watch it and then give ur opinion....this movie is not as bad as it is said in reviews....you know now a days this is an agenda to degrade a film intentionally so that the particular director or actor working on the movie gets degraded....When a worst film ever made in India Om Shanti Om released reviewers just praised it like this is a classic or never seen before movie....Raavan is 100 times better than Om Shanti Om...go and watch it ASAP........or culture has become so market oriented now that to get some limelight we don't even leave our legends like Mani Ratnam....watch it and then u will see how hard they have worked on it......
meloveindia Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I watched Raavan (hindi) last Friday (the same day it was was released) i find it VERY boring, yawn ............. 2/10 2 Points due to good scenery , abhishek and aishwarya are ordinary and artificial in their roles yesterday saw A-Team , go and watch it 10/10

I usually like to watch movies based on the reviews. Going by the reviews on this forum - it is nothing but terrible. Even when the reviews are positive -- like say 3 or even 3.5 out of 5 I dont like them. Now I am not exactly sure -- why you have compared Raavan to Om Shanti Om -- With a heavy heart I must admit I did watch Om Shanti Om (rather was forced to with a bunch of family members) -- what a f'ing terrible piece of crap that was. I can gurantee you if I start looking back -- I can find better road side nautanki shows during festival times -- which are better than Om Shanti Om. Here is more news for you -- I do not consider and NOT EVEN ONE -- film of Shah Rukh as a super hit. What a waste of friggin talent. Some films like DDLJ do qualify as a "good" movies. Even that because the theme of film was very different to what movies were being produced during those days. I did give a Thumps Up to Billu Barber -- but that was mainly due to the other guy (forgot his name) Coming back to Raavan -- while I think Abhi has started to act decently well, Ash -- is one of the most over hyped actress the world has ever seen. I have hated her fake accent, fake acting -- ever since she showed up. I consider even Karisma Kapoor a better actress than her and that is saying a lot.
Gunner_Mania Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 ^ Cant say about Raavan (Hindi) but, I watched Raavanan (Tamil) - without knowing story, seein trailer, or having listened to the music - just for the fact that it was Mani Ratnam's movie. I was disappointed. The script lets the movie down big time and hindi or Tamil the script is going to be the same. Frankly the first half of the movie makes no sense whatsoever. The viewer has completely lost interest in the movie by the time the director in the second half provides a justification for the first half.

riya Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Saw Raavanan(tamil).And it was ok.Vikram rocked and Ash as well.Those who say Vikram sucks watch tamil version,in hindi his character wasn't developed properly.However wouldn't come any where close to Mani's best.Weak script. But Ash is ina league of her own,the efforts physical and emotional she puts into this performance inspite of weak script,tells that. Most reviews opined that Tamil better than hindi mainly because Vikram>>>>>Abhi as Beera.

In reply to this line, our abhishek the beera, in extreme anger, vehemently shouts "SUCK ?". Don't get surprised or fall off your chairs. This is actually the bihari pronunciation of 'shak' that abhishek the beera utters. The point I'm trying to make is - knowingly or unknowingly, that word from abhishek the beera sums up the entire movie for me. Yes. The movie sucked. :giggle:

riya Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Ash is far better than Katrinas,kareena,priyankas..I am 100% sure they wouldn't be able to do this role like her.And beauty was just out of the world.Absolutely ethereal. Ash is not a great actress compared to the real actresses but definitely way better compared to the useless expressionless puppets in todays industry minus vidya balan.

She looked stunning, but the movie was trash. Josh was trash as well. I havent seen the rest, but I have heard those are trash as well.

Maybe even Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, never heard of that one. I also doubt Jeans was a commercial hit, yes some lunatic sent it for the Oscars, but I think that was pretty much it.
