Sir john Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Glendermott have it all to do tonight if they are to join Limavady and Fox Lodge at the top of NW Senior One. A blistering knock of 149 from former Irish international Mark Gillespie helped cup finalists Strabane to an imposing total of 301 for 6 in their 40 overs. Gillespie hit an incredible 13 sixes in addition to 9 fours, as the Glendermott bowling was dispatched to all parts of the Bond's Street venue. An early three wickets blitz from Gary Neely (3-55) had reduced Strabane to a precarious 30 for 3, but Peter Gillespie made 55 in a fourth wicket stand of 135 in 19 overs with his older brother - that half century takes Peter Gillespie to a tally of 869 runs for the season to date. After Peter Gillespie and Manu Sharma were dismissed by Hancke von Rauenstein (2-50), the late fireworks were provided by Ciaran Patton (38 not out), who in conjunction with Mark Gillespie added 99 in the final 8 overs of the innings. The game continues tonight at The Rectory starting at 6:30pm Monday Night Scorecard STRABANE R Gallagher c McElhatton b Neely 4 K Martin b Neely 10 J Beukes c Montgomery b Neely 10 P Gillespie c Montogmery b Von Rauenstein 55 M Gillespie b R Barr 149 M Sharma b Von Rauenstein 15 C Patton not out 38 Extras 20 Total (40 overs, six wkts) 301 Fall 1-4 2-14 3-30 4-165 5-202 6-301 Bowling: G Neely 8-0-55-3 S Cochrane 8-2-36-0 S Smyth 5-0-23-0 R Pearson 5-0-58-0 H von Rauenstein 8-0-50-2 G McElhatton 4-0-37-0 C Averill 1-0-21-0 R Barr 1-0-15-1 :hatsoff:
