nah , he played against the Lankans & avgd nearly 50 I think ...but still have to admit , hes a good talent for a 20 year old . Asif on the other hand has played bulk of his matches in Aus, Nz , Eng & SA ..even the series in SL the pitches wer very bowler friendly . forget the stats Aamer is miles ahead of Asif on ability & potential .

the series against Lanka wasnt flat tracks,they prepared swinging tracks to exploit Pak batsmen's ability.Kulasakera was the MoS IIRC.hes not even in the team now:phehehe: n still averaged 50 as u say yes he has potential,but way too inconsistent.i rate Ishant better than him n i'm not joking.Ishant just hd to play on lot of dead tracks recently as for Asif,hes way overrated.hes no way near as good as his average.averages 40 in Pak,yet to play in flatbeds of India,WI

They have cowards like Shoaib Malik , who despite playing international cricket for almost 7 years, is hiding lower down the order exposing freshers like Azhar ali, Umar Amin at pivotal #3 . that is sheer cowardice. the youngsters are made scape goats in england weather conditions.even the "better batsman than Tendulkar" Umar Akmal bats lower than the new guys, again showing that he and his brother are expliting their closeness with Slman butt and trying to save their spots. but they are failing miserably. when some one of sachin stature, respects Anderson's bowling and plays percentage cricket , avoiding risks in swinging conditions, i dont know why Salman butt should start off like Viv Richards? that sets a bad precedent when ur Captain gets out when there are hardly 6 0r 7 overs to play out before the close of play.

I can see the below events unfolding to solve Pakistan's batting problems. * Bring back MoYo for test 2 (already happening) * Sack Salman Butt after the series and make Umar Gul captain on account of his 65 not out - which is enough proof that he is the best batsman in the team. * Appoint Inzy as the batting coach * Make an official announcement that both the captain and coach will be given a long run (the same template that was used last time will be reused with Salman Butt/Afridi replaced by new names) * Appoint an inquiry committee to analyze the root cause of under performance. * The committee will report that player's indulge in politics, self promotion and rival gangs and possibly match fixing but there is no real problem with the batting talunt in the team. * Roll the dice, pick 4 players at random and ban them for 4 years. * Bring back Shoaib Akhtar & reinstall Afridi Jalfrezi as captain of test team.

They can do whatever they want to do -- it is all because of one and only thing -- "Lack of Talent". This is the best they can produce -- this is the best they can achieve.

I reckon the obvious culprit Pakistan will find is "Betting" and "Fixing" as usual. There were already reports just before the start of the series that Pakistan players were socializing with shady characters. This report will now be used in the Pakistani senate, a committee will be appointed and the committee will ban probably couple of senior players. Again they will start rebuilding the team from the scratch and then they will bring back the seniors. Meanwhile the senior players will retire and un-retire on the same day if not in the same hour. Amidst all this, Younis Khan is the smart one. He has absolutely distanced from this shambles, plays county cricket, makes more money than what he does playing for Pakistan and enjoys his life as well as cricket. It doesn't make sense Younis Khan playing for Pakistan anyways as there's always some players or the senate appointed committee working in the background to remove him. Meanwhile Imran Khan will come up with some statements for political mileage and blame all this on US presence in Pakistan or the ruling party. PCB meanwhile will go back to their well tailored hat and randomly pick few names out of the hat for the future series' It was an excellent achievement beating Aussies at Headingly but this test must have left a very bitter taste with Pakistan fans. I guess it isn't the loss but the fashion in which they lost that must be devastating. If you thought Pakistan was bad in the first inning, the second inning was unbearable. England minor counties can certainly do better than this. The worst news for Pakistan is Tamim Iqbal batted way better than all these Pakistani players. Tamim knocked off 2 hundreds recently in even more testing conditions just a month ago. I haven't heard much of Pakistani A teams touring overseas and developing players. Does Pakistan A play anywhere at all or just domestic cricket?
