Dravid's Resume

With the glorious career he had. Probably our second or third batsman ever, he was never able to score 100 in Lanka after 9 test matches. I think he will be disappointed with that. His only significant contribution was in Kandy chasing 250. He had scored 75. He had great opportunity to score one in first innings. Looked in great touch, but missed the straight delivery of Mathews. Laxman was missing the century in Lanka as well but he managed it today. Ganguly has 98 not out to his name.

I am happy and over the moon that we won. But sad that Dravid could not score in this series. He was in good touch, ran himself out once, two LBWs and one very unlucky way to get out. It seems Australian seires will be his last series.

No one can achieve everything. Even Tendulkar would look back and think he could have done a few things better.

I really reckon he should call it a day, not because he is not capable but he should know for certain there are couple of guys waiting in the wings that are good enough to if not fill his role at least make contribution. Nothing against Rahul, he's a great guy but I guess every good thing comes to end and better off leaving when he knows he's not going to let the team down by doing so given the bench strength. Last thing I would want to see him dropped from the test team. They did that to him in ODIs, don't want to see that happen to him in test cricket where he ruled the roost for a very long time.

The celebration he had (joined by Sachin) when Raina hit that 6 to seal the match is a sure enough sign that Dravid is still enjoying the game. Has been a dip in form for him after a glorious run of form starting from the England series in late 2008. He will be back to scoring 100s vs the Aussies.

I agree he will perform v the Aussies, his dimissals have been unlucky in this series and when scoring a few runs looks to be hitting the ball well. Think it would be a disaster if he went.

Sure thing but how can they make way for new talent though? Someone needs to make way and at the moment I can't think of anyone but Rahul. He's still capable but to hit the purple patch of his past is something that may not happen in a day or two. I would hate to see Rahul go but there has to be some sort of carry over that needs to be made. Now after Ganguly left, the likes of Yuvi and Raina are getting a chance to show what they can do. There's no point pulling up a youngster if he can't get a chance. Tendulkar can carry on as long as he likes and Laxman still has plenty to offer. Don't get me wrong, Indian cricket will not be the same without Rahul in the team at least for me but like I said all good things will have to come to end some day. I'm not asking for a 30 year old Rahul to make way but a pretty much a stellar player that has achieved everything possible and doesn't have another 7-8 yearls of cricket to offer to make way.

the thing is Raina is still not established,if Rahul goes now,we'll have 2 new boys in our middle order,certainly not an ideal thing. n its only 1 bad series,he was great wen SL toured us n also in NZ.cant replace such a great player on the basis of one series,although the pressure will be on him if he fails against Aus.that'll be his test,but he deserves the chance for that

Thats better than having four wet behind the ear kids if we dont let go of Rahul now. The old guys have to leave in a phased manner. Phase 1 was kumble and Saurav, Phase 2 is RSD.

Pujara is scoring runs non-stop, its difficult to keep him out any more. Every game he's playing in he is making a decent contribution at least. I guess the level is different, but this upcoming players tour should give us a better idea of his ability

I think Sachin does not have a test century in Zimbabwae of all the places.that will complete a nice circle for him, if he scores a 150, that would be ven great.hope we have a test series against Zimboks when they regain their status next year.

agree. even an out of sorts saurav scored a painfully slow 100 against zimboks in that series.
