that was first time they lost in Premadasa in 15 years. First lose for Sanga as a captain in Lanka. And few things to note. We did not have Gambhir, We did not have Zaheer, Bhajji and Sreesanth, 3 of our strike bowlers. Take that Sangakarra and Mahela (dude we scored at 4 RPO in first inings)

His captaincy was worse than Dhoni in this test match.
In fact, this was the worst I've seen in recent past. :haha: Dhoni is steve waugh compared to whinga.

it wasn't a presentation ceremony - it was a "prize giving" ceremony! lol...
Is that what the Sri Lankan host called it? Sehwag = Man of the Series :isalute: Relaxman does it for us, in style :isalute:

lost all 3 toss too & we know how crucial that can be in SL

The most irritating thing about Sanga's post match interviews is that he always implies the result is a function of how well his own team plays - like the other side on the pitch is irrelevant.

Actually losing all the tosses have given so much credibility to our drawing the series. Else everyone starting from the SL captain to Lady Jaya to SL fans to CrapInfo's self proclaimed geniuses would have surely been saying: 'Mind you...Things would have been MUCH different had India not won all the tosses'. Take it biatches :finger:

Yup Sanga got a bit too cocky to his own good. This was waiting to happen. This man speaks a bit too much and has no idea SL last won a test series overseas in 2000. How can SL look at themselves as challengers to no.1 if they can't win in home conditions against a very depleted Indian bowling line up. SL has no excuses whatsoever.

More... Sri Lanka was better side in Test series: Sangakkara Press Trust Of India Colombo, August 07, 2010 They let India level the three-match series by not grabbing chances but Sri Lanka was a better side throughout, host skipper Kumar Sangakkara said on Saturday. India won the third Test by five wickets to deny Sri Lanka a series-win but Sangakkara drew satisfaction from their dominating performance. "It is one all. It is neither here nor there. But I thought right through the Test series we took more wickets. We scored more runs and we definitely created a lot more opportunities. "Of course we did not convert those opportunities in these two tests. It was the only window India had to come back to the series," Sangakkara said. The Lankan skipper said the third Test could have taken a different turn had they grabbed chances against Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina today. "I think we had a couple of chances this morning with Sachin and then with Raina. I think that would have made it lot more interesting. But the way they batted was excellent. They batted very positively, they kept scoring runs. And apart from Suraj Randiv and Malinga we could not exert pressure from the other end either to take wickets or to cut down runs." Sangakkara said a score of near-300 would have made the contest more tight. "I think we would have liked to have close to 300 runs but the situation that we had 250 to defend was a great effort from Mendis and Thilan Samaraweera. Few chances here and there and all of them have proved crucial in the final analysis," he said. Sangakkara also praised the preparation of the wicket, which had something to offer to all the players. "Usually it helps the fast bowlers a bit more than that, But the statistics show that the team batting last have won every test match here in the past two years. "But probably the wicket was dry than it has been before. And probably it offered enough for every one in the first two days and more more to the spinners over the last three days. But over all a great wicket," he said.

Good' date=' Sanga will be quite for a while then :giggle:[/quote'] Expect him to whine about 2 test matches not being enough for them. Expect him to ask for a fair FTP to SL.

Whinga!!! If we look properly, 3rd test was won by india easily in the end batting last when only 4 teams have ever managed to win chasing more than 200 in SL We were without 3 of our 1st pick bowlers and 1 batsman in 3rd test and 3 1st pick in the 1st 2 tests We lost all the tosses and everyone knows that in SL toss is half the battle in itself In the 1st test, India batted poorly with a feeling that it was going to rain but it never did after the 2nd day So SL better team? I dont think so!
