Cyling is my current obsession...after 2 years of road-ing, I ventured offroad/MTB this summer. Got this beauty: 37934.jpg Oh man the adrenaline ..jumping on rocks, fallen trees, water streams...etc :nice: :bhangra: There are some side effects...I went into the woods without bug spray..so something bit me and I was down for two weeks :phehehe: :(

To gym people here, I m thinking to buy the ON hydro whey powder. they are giving a blender shaker for free :woot: I want to lean the muscle. Is that a good option?

Isn't running on treadmill damn easy compared to outdoor ? Running 3.5 KM on treadmill(in 20 mins) feels like body has just warmed up with almost no problem in breathing. I used to run outdoor as much as 5 kilometers but even 1.5 KMs on jogging track felt more difficult than 3.5 KMs on treadmill.
The difference between cycling in the gym and on the road is much more stark than running on a treadmill and outside.
True that - when I tried cycling outside (granted it was after years) I was like WTF- made me feel so unfit. BTW what kind of seat you guys use when biking- I had to give up cos my ass hurts so bad even after few miles
That is what resistance and inclination settings are there for. Both form of cardio are just different paths towards common goal (of better cardio health), and have their own pro and cons. Next time you hop on treadmill - try increasing inclination every few minutes, you will reach On stationary bike, you can try HIIT. Its easier (not in terms of effectiveness) to do certain training regimes on gym equipment ( bike/treadmill/elliptical), than you could do outdoors, and you can do more variety. Unless you are specifically training for outdoor event ( marathon or biking) - you can setup up equivalent difficulty, and achieve similar results - indoors too. As I quoted Arnold somewhere in this thread ( or some other) - more important than arguing about which cardio is better, it is better to actually do anything sincerely. P.S. 15-20 minutes of HIIT on gym bike/elliptical/whatever (if done properly) is as effective as jogging 45-50 minutes (may be more).

Protein powder/supplement is only very small part of the goal you are aiming for. If you do other things right - you can replace any protein powder with any other. Simpler is better. btw, muscle by itself is always lean :). perhaps you meant either gain lean muscle, or reduce body fat%.

Ok so here's two kickass body-weight routines. One is crossfit and the a pushup based chest workout. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/star-crossed-bob-harper-cross-fit-workout.html
Both are good and will challenge your fitness. With the chest workout I figured I'd eventually use a heavy bag on my back to up the intensity. But boy was I mistaken. On it's own it's a pretty good workout. With the cross-fit workout, which I do 1-2 times a week I have now managed a best time of 35 mins. Give both workouts a shot guys and tell me what you think.
Looks good.. Wanna try something different today for a change. Will do this workout:two_thumbs_up:

Hey how did it go? You tried the YT one or the Crossfit one Personally I love this Corssfit workout. It's just insane and it's got my chest looking ripped. Heck dude in under 40 min you crank out about 175 pushups. Here's another Cross fit workout I like. Have done it just once though. http://www.muscleandfitness.com/training/routines/crossfit-workouts-week-angie-barbara-and-chelsea I'm referring to 'Barbara' here. The got 2 modification on the original Barbara workout as well. I can handle Barabara-Pack, the original Barbara workout is still outta my league.

Tried the chest YouTube video workout...by level 3 phase 1, I only did 10 reps every time instead as I was out of energy:giggle: n in the last phase of level 3, I barely did 5 repetitions :cantstop: However end result was good and I was sweating good and was feeling good on chest
